On 13th August, propaganda journalist Swati Chaturvedi called former journalist and Trinamool Congress MP Sagarika Ghose a “content thief”. In a post on X, Chaturvedi wrote, “Honestly can’t see any difference between “exclusive” “content thief” Sagarika Ghose and the notorious Rishi Bagree. Poor Mamata Banerjee made her an MP.”
The comment by Swati Chaturvedi came after a video that she posted was allegedly “downloaded” and posted on X without any credits. The video by Swati was published at 10:51 AM on 13th August.
Dear Speaker Sir, Dhankarjee our @VPIndia the following our not AI generated images but our elected RS members did you really say all this to them? May I draw your attention to Rule 238 of the RS “no member while speaking should make a personal charge against another mem pic.twitter.com/8QdN70xRRf

The same video was then published by Sagarika Ghose at 11:28 AM on 13th August. There was no credit to the original poster by TMC MP Ghose.
In a follow-up post, Swati Chaturvedi wrote, “Can’t get worse than Sagarika Ghose have some shame ma’am the video I posted of Vice President of India Dhankar is “exclusive” weren’t you allegedly a “journalist” before being a cynical leech like hubby Sardesai who normalises serial sex pests like Brij Bhushan. Take it down shameful @Mamataofficial.”
Targeting Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications, Jairam Ramesh, Swati Chaturvedi wrote, “And Jairam Ramesh, must you RT thief’s like Ms Ghosh. That Veep video was exclusive really this is what you encourage Rahul Gandhi and Supriya Shrinate mercenaries like Sagarika Ghosh who steal content.. no wonder the RW thinks she’s pathetic.”
Chaturvedi also targeted propaganda cartoonist Manjul for not crediting her for the video. She wrote, “Dear Manjul kindly do give credit for the “exclusive” content Something wrong with your so called “journalism”. This was “exclusive” content & you seem to have a real issue being fair & decent. Or do tell us where you got this video from?”
Manjul replied to her post and said he would credit her. However, he pointed out that similar thing was done by Swati herself in the past where she used a graphic in her post without creditting the creator, in this case, Manjul.
His argument rattled Swati who declared herself “actual” journalist and said “newspaper graphic is somewhat different from an exclusive video.”
Ironically, while Swati Chaturvedi made claims that her content was “stolen”, she herself did not credit Rajya Sabha or Sansad TV for the clips she had used in the video. Ideally, there should be a “Video Credit” in the frames where video clips were used.
Sagarika Ghose, Mamata Banerjee, Jairam Ramesh or anyone from the ecosystem has not replied or clarified to Swati Chaturvedi in the matter.
VP Dhankar called out members of parliament for unruly behaviour on multiple occassions
The video originally shared by Swati was about different incidents that took place in Rajya Sabha where Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar called out members of the house for unruly behaviour. The opposition members who created ruckus in the house, after which VP had to step in, were Jairam Ramesh, Sagarika Ghose, Saket Gokhale and others.
