On Saturday (7th September), the Surat police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against a non-resident Indian (NRI) named Faisal Patel for giving instant triple talaq to his wife via video.

His wife filed a complaint at the Lalgate police station on 3rd September. She accused Faisal of giving triple talaq electronically from London in the month of April.
