Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah killed in targeted bombing on Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut, confirms Israel

A day after Israel Defense Forces bombed Hezbollah’s main headquarters in Beirut, Lebanon, Israel officially confirmed that Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah died in the operation. Confirming the development, IDF tweeted, “Hassan Nasrallah will no longer be able to terrorize the world.”

As per Israeli sources, Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah terrorist organization and one of its founders, was eliminated yesterday in the bombing operation, together with Ali Karki, the Commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front, and additional Hezbollah commanders.

After the airstrikes, IDF sources had said that the strikes targeted Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who was believed to be at the command centre at the time. The Israeli airstrike on the Hezbollah base in Beirut shook the Lebanon capital, covering the city in smoke and dust.

As per reports, Israeli strikes flattened six buildings belonging to the terror group. It was the heaviest attack in Beirut in almost a year of conflict between Hezbollah and Israel. Reports said that tens of tons of explosives were used in the bombing.

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said that the command centre was built underneath civilian buildings in the Dahiyeh suburb, a known Hezbollah stronghold in Beirut. “The strike was carried out while the top brass of Hezbollah were at their headquarters and engaged in coordinating terror activities against the citizens of the State of Israel,” the Israeli military said.
