Osmania University committee members attack actor Allu Arjun’s house, arrested after they pelted stones and vandalised property

After Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy made fresh allegations against actor Allu Arjun over the death of a woman during the premiere of the movie Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad, the actors house was attacked today by a mob. A group of people claiming to the members of Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU JAC) pelted stones at the house and vandalised the property.

The mob chanted slogans against Allu Arjun in front of his Jubilee Hills house, demanding justice for Revathi, the woman who died in the stampede in Sandhya Theatre on 4 December. They then started pelting stones at the house. Some of the mob also entered the property by scaling walls, and vandalised flower pots and other items on the front yard.

The members of the Osmania University’s Joint Action Committee were demanding a compensation of ₹1 crore for the victim’s family.

However, the security staff intervened and prevented the mob from going into the house. Nobody from the house came out during the attack. Soon police arrived and detained the attackers. As per reports, 8 individuals have been arrested by the police, who were later taken to the Jubilee Hills Police Station.

The escalation in the situation came after the state CM alleged that Allu Arjun disregarded police instructions during the incident and refused to leave the theatre after being told that a woman died in the stampede. Revanth Reddy alleged that Allu Arjun showed indifference after he was told about the death. The CM also claimed that police didn’t give permission for a procession by Allu Arjun citing security and possible law and order problems.

However, the Telegu actor has denied the charges made by the CM, and said that he strictly followed the police instructions. He also denied organising any procession. On Sunday Allu Arjun urged his fans to refrain from engaging in ‘abusive’ behaviour in relation to the issue.

He added in the social media post, “Misrepresenting as my fans with fake IDs and fake profiles, if someone indulges in abusive posts, strong action will be taken against him. I request fans to not engage in such posts.”
