Prashant Bhushan caught spreading lies, again

Politician and lawyer Prashant Bhushan, who is regularly caught spreading unverified and fake images on social media to score a political point, was again caught spreading lies about Mehul Choksi’s Antiguan citizenship.

Bhushan cites an article from left-leaning portal Scroll, which itself is caught spreading fake news and whitewashing crimes of barbaric Khilji, and states that PNB scam accused Mehul Choksi became Antiguan citizen after Prime Minister Modi met Antiguan President in April this year.

We had earlier reported that Choksi became Antiguan citizen in November, 2017, via Antigua’s investment program. In fact, Antigua’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne had claimed that it was extended to him when there was no Interpol’s red corner notice against him. He also claimed that there was no adverse information floating about regarding Choksi, when he applied for a citizenship.

Incidentally, the report Bhushan has cited also says that Choksi got the Antiguan citizenship in November last year.

Bhushan claims that it was after Modi met Antiguan Prime Minister Gaston Browne in April, following which Choksi was granted Antiguan citizenship as ‘no adverse report’ was found on Choksi. Truth is, Choksi was already an Antiguan citizen, few months before the PNB scandal broke and he was named an accused in the multi-crore scam.

Makes one wonder why would a Supreme Court lawyer spread false information, deliberately.
