Villagers of Dosanjh village, Punjab put up ‘missing’ posters against the AAP MP Sadhu Singh

The villagers of Dosanjh of Moga district in Punjab have put up ‘missing‘ posters of the Aam Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Member of Parliament Sadhu Singh of Faridkot constituency accusing him of being disappeared after winning the Lok Sabha elections four years back.

The residents of the village have accused that the member of Parliament Sadhu Singh has not visited their village even once after he was elected and has not granted any money to the village development under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) funds.

The posters have photos of AAP MP Sadhu Singh and read, “Sadhu Singh, AAP MP is MISSING. If someone has seen him, please inform us. We went to his office many times, but he could not be found. Does he know that there is a village named Dosanjh? Our village has wasted 500 votes and voted for him in 2014. This MP has not been seen anywhere in our village after winning the elections. For me and my village, our MP is missing. Also, our MPLAD funds share is missing.”

The sarpanch of the village Gurcharan Singh alias Gogi, who is a Congress worker, said the MP did not visit their area or disburse development funds. Gogi said that the MP has not even spent a penny on developmental projects in the village. He further added, “Whenever we visit his office to ask for our share of MPLAD funds for developmental works, he is never found there”. The villagers had planned for solar street light installation projects and renovation of a park from the MPLADS funds, but the AAP MP is yet to visit the village, which resulted in putting up of posters by angry villagers.

However, AAP MP Sadhu Singh when rejected the allegations and said that he has never denied funds to any village sarpanch under his constituency. “I have more than 800 villages in my constituency area and maybe I skipped visiting this village” He further added that he is facing health issues and is unwell. He said that the Dosanjh villagers can contact me again and he will issue grants.

The Aam Aadmi Party has been facing severe crises in Punjab, as the senior leaders of the party have been disenchanted with the nature of working of the party. H S Phoolka has resigned from the post as he has decided to step away sighting conflict of interest, to fight the cases relating 1984 Anti-Sikh riots in the Supreme Court. The former Leader of Opposition Sukhpal Singh Khaira has raised the rebellion against the autocratic function of Arvind Kejriwal.
