Rajasthan: PM Modi slams Congress for its Anti-Hindu policies, calls it a ‘University of lies’ in a Jodhpur rally

PM Modi also recalled Nehru's opposition to the rebuilding of Somnath temple

PM Modi went all guns blazing against the Congress party at an election rally in Jodhpur. PM Modi said that Congress party has no locus standi in doubting his Hindutva credentials and his caste roots. He accused Congress of perpetuating caste divide in the country since Independence.

Condemning Congress’ anti-Hindu stance, Modi claimed that Hindus will not forget India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s opposing views regarding the restoration of the ravaged Somnath Temple in Gujarat. Remembering Dr Rajendra Prasad on his 134th birth anniversary, Modi alleged that Nehru didn’t accord due respect to Dr Rajendra Prasad and even asked him to not attend the reinstallation ceremony at Somnath Temple.

In an apparent jibe at Rahul Gandhi, Modi asked him what are his views on the existence of Lord Ram, given that his mother led UPA government had in writing questioned any historical evidence proving Lord Ram’s existence.

Modi also took a dig at the current state of Congress and claimed it to be a party full of liars. He said, “Congress has become a University in propagating falsities and lies. Anyone who enters the party starts pursuing PhD in lying and those who get the highest marks in it are elected to important ranks and positions.”

Modi contended that Congress party has disregarded Mahatma Gandhi and his cherished ideal of cleanliness. He alleged that not a single Congress Prime Ministers since independence talked about cleanliness or about building toilets. Modi also said that he was anguished to see women suffering due to absence of toilets. Lamenting over previous Congress government’s inefficiencies, Modi said it is shameful that no emphasis was given by the governments on building toilets.
