Rahul Gandhi cancels Amethi visit, winks in parliament again

Rahul Gandhi has winked in the parliament for the second time in six months

Today union minister Smriti Irani and Congress president Rahul Gandhi were scheduled to visit Amethi, the parliamentary constituency of the later. The union minister launched several projects in Amethi, and addressed a rally. She said that due to the work done by BJP government in the constituency, Rahul Gandhi is forced to visit Amethi. But after getting roasted by defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha today, the Congress president decided not to face another firebrand woman leader from BJP in his own home turf.

Earlier, it was reported that Rahul Gandhi has postponed his visit to Amethi as he wanted to attend the Rafale debate in the parliament. But according to latest reports, he has cancelled the visit altogether, citing important work in wake of the Lok Sabha proceedings.

Although the Congress party did not say what important work Rahul Gandhi had in Lok Sabha that he had to cancel his scheduled visit to his constituency, a video has emerged which show what important work he had. He had to wink in the Lok Sabha, again.

During the debate when AIADMK MP Thambi Durai was speaking during the Rafale debate, Rahul Gandhi, who was sitting behind Durai, was seen winking, looking towards someone on the opposite of the house, probably in the treasury benches.

This is the second time Rahul Gandhi has performed this bizarre act in the august house. On 20th July last year, during the no-confidence motion against the Modi government, Rahul Gandhi had walked over to prime minister Narendra Modi and hugged him. And after returning to his seat, Rahul Gandhi had winked towards the PM, which was caught on camera. The images and video of Rahul Gandhi winking in parliament had gone viral that time.

The Congress president seems to love the attention his such antics draw, hence he decided to repeat it, aware that this will be caught in cameras.
