HM Rajnath Singh lends a shoulder to mortal remains of soldiers martyred in Pulwama attack

Singh, along with the J&K DGP Dilbag Singh were seen lending a shoulder to mortal remains of a CRPF soldier who attained martyrdom in yesterday's dastardly attack.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh was today on a visit to Srinagar to pay homage to the slain soldiers and take stock of the situation in Kashmir after the deadly terrorist attack in Pulwama yesterday, which killed 44 CRPF soldiers. Singh, along with the J&K DGP Dilbag Singh were seen lending a shoulder to mortal remains of a CRPF soldier who attained martyrdom in yesterday’s dastardly attack.


Union Minister Rajnath Singh is in Srinagar today to review the security situation in Kashmir and participate in rounds of meetings scheduled throughout the day. At the same time, he might also visit the spot 20 kilometres away from Srinagar. After a long level meeting with the security officials, he will return to Delhi after which all-party meeting will be convened and further discussions will be discussed. A total of 44 Jawans have died in this attack on Thursday.

PM Modi, while addressing a rally in Jhansi and condemned the terror attack in Pulwama. He had promised vengeance and granted the Armed Forces a free rein to exact revenge for the cowardly attack. He also blasted out at Pakistan for nurturing and harbouring terrorists and warned them that they will have to pay a huge price for the terrorist activities they support and sponsor against India.

Earlier, Union Minister Arun Jaitley announced that India has withdrawn the ‘Most Favoured Nation’ tag to Pakistan. He, too, had stated that the perpetrators of the attack will be made to pay for their actions. “As far as the security forces are concerned, they will be taking all possible steps to ensure that full security is maintained and that those who have committed and actively supported this heinous act are made to pay a heavy price,” Jaitley said.

The Air Force plane has reached Budgam from the Hindan Airbase in Ghaziabad, in which the body of the soldiers will be brought to Delhi Palam Airbase. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will pay tribute to the soldiers there.
