Congress leader Digvijaya Singh downplays Pulwama terror attack, calls it as an ‘accident’

Congress leaders have either downplayed the terror attack or floated bizarre conspiracy theories.

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh today, in a series of tweets, tried to downplay the Pulwama terror attack. He started with a disclaimer that we are proud of our armed forces and have complete faith in them.

He lauds the armed forces for the service they provide in protecting the nation. However, he adds, following the ‘Pulwama accident’, reports in various foreign media regarding the “air strike” have created a doubt in our minds. This has made us question the credibility of the Indian government as well, he adds.

Downplaying terror attacks or absolving the actual terrorists and pinning the blame on someone he doesn’t agree with politically is not something new for Singh. In 2010, months after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Digvijaya Singh, along with film maker Mahesh Bhatt and others had launched a book which claimed that the Mumbai terror attacks were an RSS conspiracy. Singh not only downplays the terror attack, but he also toes the Pakistani lines since Pakistan has maintained that the only thing the air strikes destroyed were some trees.

This, coming from a Congress leader is ironic to say the least. Following the ghastly terror attack on the CRPF convoy which claimed lives of 44 soldiers, Goa Congress leader had asked for the proof of terror attack since the ‘body of the terrorist’ was not found. He had even gone on to say that the Pulwama attack was carried out by Prime Minister Modi. Congress supporting abusive troll Sanjukta had also claimed that the Pulwama attack was an inside job. That is not all. Congress President Rahul Gandhi himself was caught on camera dancing just hours after the Pulwama attack. Congress then deleted the video after it was pointed out.
