As the political climate in the country intensifies for the upcoming general elections, the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh has reiterated earlier claim of banning the RSS Shakhas from the government premises and forbidding government employees from participating in the Shakhas.
As per a report in Aaj Tak, the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh has already started preparing plans for implementing their claim. It is notable here that before the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, Congress has mentioned in its election manifesto that they will ban RSS from government premises and will revoke an earlier order which allowed government employees to attend Shakhas.
As per the Aaj Tak report, Congress minister Dr. Govind Singh has stated that the government is fully committed to fulfilling its election manifesto promise. The fresh declaration comes ahead of the All-India representatives’ meet of the RSS scheduled to be held in Gwalior from 8th to 10th March.
The BJP, however, has stated that the Congress government cannot stop RSS Shakhas from being held even if they try their best. BJP state vice president Rameshwar Sharma has stated that if Kamal Nath’s government tries to ban RSS shakhas, RSS will hold shakhas at the residences of their ministers, on parks, roads and any place available but Congress cannot stop RSS Shakhas.
Former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has stated that even Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi could not ban RSS shakhas. Speaking to media, Chouhan stated that no government can stop the RSS shakhas or their work.

It is notable here that Congress, especially its president Rahul Gandhi and his minions have been very vocal in maligning and vilifying the RSS. Rahul had even compared the RSS to the Muslim Brotherhood in the past.
Congress leaders and supporters had even criticised their own party veteran and former president Pranab Mukherjee when he had attended an RSS event in Nagpur.
