Chhattisgarh CM who was accused in sex CD scandal, questions the Balakot airstrikes, yet again

It seems to have become a norm in Congress to question the Airstrikes conducted by India against Pakistan terror hideouts in Balakot as a response to the Pulwama terrorist attack.

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel has joined the ever-growing list of opposition politicians questioning the authenticity of the airstrikes conducted by Indian Air Force in response to the Pulwama attack. Raising questions on the Balakot airstrikes, Baghel asserted that it is not criminal to ask such questions of the government.

Casting aspersions on PM Modi, Baghel alleged that the country was attacked several times in the past as well but nobody doubted Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi or Lal Bahadur Shashtri’s leadership. However, there must be a reason people are questioning now, he said.

“There were differing numbers tossed up by the media outlets about the count of terrorists killed. I would like to ask them how did they arrive at these numbers? How did they get them? Is it criminal to ask such questions?” Baghel asked.

It is significant to note that a few months ago Baghel was sent to judicial custody for 14 days by a special CBI court after the premier investigative agency filed a charge-sheet against him in connection with his alleged involvement in circulation of “fake” sex CD that purportedly showed a senior BJP minister in compromising position.

It seems to have become a norm in Congress to question the Airstrikes conducted by India against Pakistan terror hideouts in Balakot as a response to the Pulwama terrorist attack. A few days back, advisor to the Congress party, Sam Pitroda had also questioned the veracity of airstrikes. Congress senior leaders Kapil Sibbal, Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and Digvijay Singh had undermined the Indian Air Force by questioning the authenticity of the airstrikes.
