Mamata Banerjee to skip all party presidents’ meeting called by PM Modi tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be chairing a meeting of presidents of all parties represented in Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha on June 19 to discuss the issue of ‘one nation, one election’.

Mamata Banerjee has written to the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Pralhad Joshi, informing him that she will be unable to attend the meeting of party presidents called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ANI has reported.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be chairing a meeting of presidents of all parties represented in Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha on June 19 to discuss the issue of ‘one nation, one election’.

Mamata Banerjee had earlier skipped the Niti Aayog meet on the 15th of June to discuss the country’s development agenda for ‘New India 2022’. She had also said that the NITI Aayog meeting would be fruitless as they do not have any financial powers.

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has been ignoring or sidelining the central government on several occasions. Earlier, she had refused to talk to the PM and hold a review meeting to access the damages done by cyclones Fani. She had severely objected and had even sat on a Dharna to prevent the CBI officials from questioning Kolkata’s then police chief over Sharada scam.
