Be careful or we will lose Kashmir: Digvijay Singh toes Pakistan’s line yet again, threatens India

MHA had stated in its statement that the claims by international media are fabricated. Yesterday, the police had also clarified that not a single bullet has been fired after August 5 in Kashmir.

After the Modi government’s bold step of stripping the Article 370 and bifurcating Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories, Pakistan has been acting frustrated and issuing a new bunch of verbal threats every day. But interestingly, many Congress leaders and their cabal of news channels and so-called ‘secular liberals’ seem to be saying the exact same things as Pakistan too.

The statements have been so coherent with Pakistan’s narrative that it is now becoming difficult to differentiate whether these leaders and fear-mongering journalists are speaking on behalf of India or India’s enemy nation.

Warning India on the basis of fabricated news shared by BBC that has been incessantly peddled by Pakistani media and media portals well known for their constant anti-India view, Digvijay Singh predicted dire scenarios in Kashmir and claimed that the government of India has ‘burnt its hands in the fire’. He added that PM Modi, Amit Shah and Ajit Doval need to be careful or “We will lose Kashmir”.

It is notable here that Pakistan has been stating similar lines too since the Indian government announced the stripping of the article 370 and bifurcation of the state a week ago. Congress’ stand of opposing the move has been criticised not only by the people but by many of their own leaders too. Congress’ Rajya Sabha chief whip Bhubaneswar Kalita had resigned over it. Many regional and national Congress leaders have openly spoken against the party’s stand on this issue.

Nevertheless, Congress seems to be determined to echo Pakistan’s narrative over the issues of national security. Even after the Balakot airstrikes, Congress’ statements had found endorsement from Pakistan. Their statement was aired in Pakistan’s national channel to fan the enemy nation’s anti-India propaganda.

The security forces and the home ministry has denied the international media reports of large scale protests in Kashmir post-August 5. MHA had stated in its statement that the claims by international media are fabricated. Yesterday, the police had also clarified that not a single bullet has been fired after August 5 in Kashmir.

Digvijay Singh also condemned former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s statement that Nehru was a criminal. Singh stated that Shivraj Chauhan is not fit to be even the dust of Nehru’s shoes and he should feel ashamed of his statement.

Another Congress veteran and former Home Minister P Chidambaram has also echoed Pakistan’s statements. Claiming that the government’s move on Jammu and Kashmir was directed against Muslims, just like Pakistan has been whining, Chidambaram stated that Article 370 was removed only because Jammu and Kashmir is a Muslim majority state.

Chidambaram, however, did not bother to explain which non-Muslim majority state in India had Article 370 in the first place.
