In a first, representatives from Japan’s two major skill training companies met Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Thursday and offered nursing jobs for Jammu and Kashmir residents in Japan.
The representatives of two Japanese companies, namely, Blue Works International and FA Group informed Singh, said that they have visited the Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) Nursing College in Jammu and selected 12 candidates. These 12 candidates would first join the Technical Intern Training Programme (TITP), which would be followed by nursing jobs in Japan with a salary of over Rs 90,000 per month, an official said.
Out of these so-far 12 selected candidates, five are from the Jammu region and seven from the Ladakh region.
Prior to this, no such company has ever visited Jammu and Kashmir and directly offered to recruit candidates for nursing jobs through campus placement.
The historic decision to abrogate Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir has opened up a gateway of opportunities for the people living in the Valley.
Late Finance minister Arun Jaitley had said in one of his Facebook posts that Article 35A of the constitution is hampering the development of Jammu and Kashmir instead of helping the state. He said that as the article discriminates between people of Jammu and Kashmir and Indian citizens from outside the state, the state is suffering. As people from outside the state can’t get jobs, can’t own property and their children can’t get admitted to government institutions, people from outside the state are unwilling to go to the state. Businesses also don’t want to invest in the state due to the same reason. Article 35A has prevented investment and dismantled the State’s economy, Jaitley had said.
Moreover, Amit Shah in his thundering speech in the Rajya Sabha after the central government’s historic decision to strip Article 370, stated that by stripping the Article 370, the long age of violence and bloodshed in the valley will now come to an end. He added that the resolution for bifurcation and the scrapping of Article 370 will bring a new era of development in the valley. He added that Article 370 was the reason democracy never bloomed in the Valley.
Calling it the root cause of terrorism and poverty in J and K, Home Minister stated that Article 370 has withheld Jammu and Kashmir from enjoying the developments that a modern, inclusive and advanced India has achieved.
Days after the Central government decided to go with its bold decision on Jammu and Kashmir, property consultants were of the view that the decision to revoke special status for Jammu & Kashmir is likely to increase the property prices for locals as prices in Srinagar has been hovering very low in a range of Rs 2,200-4,000 per sq ft, property consultant Anarock said.
“The Centre’s recent decision to revoke Article 370 and Article 35(A) is expected to have a positive impact on Jammu & Kashmir’s overall real estate market, which has been quite dismal so far,” Anarock Chairman Anuj Puri said in a report.
Meanwhile, addressing a press conference on August 29, Governor Satya Pal Malik had also asserted that about 50,000 new government jobs will be created in Jammu and Kashmir. And in a major boost to the health and medical education sector in the Himalayan region, the Central government on September 24 announced its decision to build a new medical college in the Leh district of Ladakh region.
Reportedly, the officials stated that the centre is likely to allocate Rs 325 crore to build the medical college. Out of the total funds, Rs 115 crore will be spent on college, Rs 80 crore on hostel and homes for students and faculty, Rs 70 crore on medical equipment and Rs 60 crore on up-gradation of a teaching hospital.
