The Indian Army has attacked terrorist camps across the LoC in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after attempts were made by Pakistanis to push terrorists into Indian territory on Sunday morning. Apart from Pakistan, the Congress party seems to have a problem with the actions of the Indian Army as well.
Akhilesh Singh of the Congress party claimed that a pattern has developed overtime during Narendra Modi’s tenure as Prime Minister when military operations are used to divert attention from ‘real issues’ during elections. The statement comes a day before Maharashtra and Haryana go to polls on the 21st of October.

Singh said, “Under Modi ji’s govt, whenever there’s an election in a big state, a pattern of surgical strike is formed. Now, politics will be done on surgical strike to divert attention from real issues.” Akhilesh Singh is the same politician who had demanded more seats for the RJD in Bihar for the Lok Sabha elections despite being a Congress leader.

The only real pattern that has developed over time is the Congress party’s repeated politicking over matters pertaining to national security in a manner that undermines Indian national interests. Singh’s comments are perfectly consistent with the approach the party adopted in response to the surgical strikes the Indian Army conducted against Pakistan and the subsequent Balakot airstrikes.
In the matter of Article 370 as well, the Congress party opposed the abrogation of it tooth and nail and then former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh went on to lie about it. The United Kingdom representatives of the Congress party recently met with Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of the Labour party, and “discussed the human rights situation in Kashmir.” The party’s conduct in the aftermath of the decision has been atrocious, to put it mildly.
The Opposition parties have often blamed EVMs for their electoral defeats. Perhaps, they ought to introspect upon the comments they make in matters of national interest.
