Uttarakhand: Security increased after man threatens to blow up Har Ki Pauri Ghat in Haridwar, one arrested

Further investigations are underway.

Uttarakhand Police on Monday arrested a man who had threatened to ‘blow up’ Har Ki Pauri’ Ghat in Haridwar. The accused was arrested from the same place he had threatened to blow up. The Uttarakhand Police has said that further investigation is underway.

On November 9, at around 3:30 PM, just hours after the Ram Janmabhoomi verdict was pronounced by the Supreme Court, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat received an anonymous call on his mobile phone threatening the blow up the Har Ki Pauri Ghat. The call was received by CM’s protocol officer, Anand Singh Rawat. Following the threatening call, the security around the area was increased.

The security around the bus stops and railway stations has also been increased.
