‘Bigot no 1’, Actor Farhan Akhtar labels a concerned citizen of India for asking him to reach out to people to contain violence

A concerned social media had asked Bollywood entertainer Farhan Akhtar, his father Javed Akhtar and his step-mother Shabana Azmi to reach out to the Muslim community and ask them not to destroy my country's property.

With Muslim mobs taking to violence to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act, a concerned citizen asked Bollywood entertainer Farhan Akhtar, his father Javed Akhtar and his step-mother Shabana Azmi to reach out to the Muslim community and ask them not to destroy our country’s property.

The citizen also advised these ‘celebrities’ not to cry when these rioters are arrested and beaten black and blue. There are several instances in the past when the Islamists and their supporters have shed tears for the cause of terror sympathisers, Naxalites and anti-social elements.

However, Farhan Akhtar, just like his father Javed Akhtar, indulged in arrogance and replied in a condescending manner. Taking a jibe at Gitika, Farhan Akhtar said he will requesting an individual named David Dhawan to cast her in a movie named ‘Bigot no 1’ as Farhan thought the citizen was perfect for the part.

When a situation arises, it is very normal for celebrities and people in influential position to use their clout to appeal to people for peace. However, Akhtar, instead of appealing for peace, used this opportunity to try and bully an individual.

Akhtar was called out by Twitterati for whitewashing and downplaying the violence by Muslim mobs especially in Bengal.

People pointed out the irony that instead of condemning the ghastly violence, Akhtar chose to condemn a Twitter user who asked him to appeal to the people of his community in good faith.

The rampage of the Muslim mob continues in West Bengal under the watch of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as Islamists have now vandalised more than five railway stations and set fire to a toll plaza in Murshidabad district on Saturday during their protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

Last week, the Muslim mobs had vandalised the complex and some trains by resorting to stone pelting, injuring a driver, officials said. The violence affected train services in Sealdah division of the Eastern Railway.

Protests against the CAB were planned soon after Friday prayers across mosques in the State and other various parts of the country which has resulted in extreme violence in parts of West Bengal.

Unsurprisingly, following the violence, the ‘liberal-secular’ industry which often gives moral science lectures on constitutionalism, democracy, rule of law seems has also joined the bandwagon to ignore the riots that are being unleashed by Muslim mobs in the state. It is not shocking anymore to see that the media often referred to as the fourth pillar of the democracy has turned a blind eye to the barbarity that is being unleashed by Islamist forces in West Bengal.

Muslim mobs across the country are continuing their rampage as a form of protests over Citizenship Amendment Act. Unsurprisingly, the members of the ‘liberal-secular’ industry have deliberately chosen to ignore the crimes committed by the Muslim community, exposing their hypocrisy regarding commitment towards the rule of law.

Bollywood entertainer Farhan Akhtar not only turned a blind eye to the riots unleashed by the Muslim mob across the country but also labelled a concerned citizen a ‘bigot’ for requesting him to reach out to Muslim community to stop rioting and indulging in violence during the protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
