Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recently took to Twitter to request netizens to help him find a person who had helped him improve his batting. He said that there was one staffer at a Chennai hotel who had spotted the fact that the flawed design in his elbow guard was hampering his batting. Sachin Tendulkar redesigned his elbow guard soon after. On Twitter, he asked people whether they could help him find him as wished to catch up with him.
A chance encounter can be memorable!
I had met a staffer at Taj Coromandel, Chennai during a Test series with whom I had a discussion about my elbow guard, after which I redesigned it.
I wonder where he is now & wish to catch up with him.Hey netizens, can you help me find him? pic.twitter.com/BhRanrN5cm

It appears that the Internet has helped the great cricketer find the fan he was looking for. Twitter user ‘Moon’ with the username @Wxntr_br said on the social media platform that it was her uncle who had the discussion about the elbow guard with the cricketing legend during the India-Australia series in 2001. India won that test match to win the series 2-1 and Sachin Tendulkar had scored a century in the first innings of the said match.
That’s my uncle whom you are looking for he met you in the second floor when you were getting down to the ground floor.he is the one who said your wrist guard is arresting your wrist movements.i have attached the autograph you signed for him and a picture of him.@sachin_rt https://t.co/F6py3fyLr6 pic.twitter.com/Ugx8I6c1ck

Moon revealed that the name of her uncle is Guruprasad Subramanian. In the video Sachin shared as part of his appeal, he is heard saying it was something he hadn’t told anyone else. Sachin said that Guruprasad told him that he was a huge fan of his and watched his shots over and over again. Guruprasad told him that his elbow guard was hindering his wrist movement.
The manner in which the Internet helped Sachin find the fan he was looking for reveals how Social Media can be a great force for good. In an era where social media has often helped in destroying lives, it is one of the happy stories that restores one’s faith that goodness can still be achieved through these networks.
