Delhi Assembly Elections: Exit polls predict return of Arvind Kejriwal led AAP government, BJP to improve its numbers

The polls predict a significant improvement for BJP from 3 seats in the last polls, while Congress is expected to remain at zero or may win 1 or 2 seats.

The exit polls for the Delhi assembly elections have predicted that Arvind Kejriwal led AAP government is coming back to power with a comfortable majority. The polls predict a significant improvement for BJP from 3 seats in the last polls, while Congress is expected to remain at zero or may win 1 or 2 seats.

Exit polls conducted by Republic-Jan Ki Baat, Neta-NewsX, ABP News-C Voter and TV9 Bharatvarsh-CICERO and shows AAP winning more than 50 seats in the 70-member assembly, down from existing 67 but still a huge victory. The polls by Sudarshan News and Times Now-IPSOS predicts numbers below 50 but above 40 for the Aam Aadmi Party. All the polls have predicted that BJP will increase tally from 3 to around 20.

The counting of votes will take place on February 11.

In the last assembly election of Delhi in 2015, the Aam Aadmi Party had won a landslide victory with winning 67 out of 70 seats. The rest 3 were own by BJP, while all other parties including Congress had drawn a blank. Arvind Kejriwal had returned as Delhi CM after winning the elections, one year after he had resigned as Delhi chief minister in the previous government that AAP had formed with the support of Congress.
