After the spectacular success of Varanasi Ghat cleaning, a group of conscious individuals, including Temsutula Imsong are planning to take the Clean India mission to the next level. Starting 23rd November, individuals across 35 cities of the country are starting a collective effort towards fulfilling the dream of Swachh Bharat. In a mission which is being called #Shramdaan by involved members, different groups in different cities would voluntarily be adopting public places, cleaning them and then maintaining on a regular basis.
The cities where plans are already in place include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Varanasi, Kohima, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kanpur and Kochi along with various others.
In the inception phase, technology and social media are playing vital roles in connecting these like-minded people who want to contribute to the Swachh Bharat. People are using hashtag #Shramdaan on twitter to spread their message. Despite knowing the fact that Monday may not pull lot many people, these people are excited, hopeful and optimistic.
