Columnist Saba Naqvi with a fading career, desperately clutching on to straws, today tried to come down on Karni Sena, which has been protesting violently in various parts of the country over screening of the movie Padmaavat.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Naqvi likened the violence by Karni Sena to a woman getting raped.
#bansali inviting Karni Sena is like a woman inviting her rapist to say, see I’m a good person and didn’t deserve to be raped!
— Saba Naqvi (@_sabanaqvi) January 22, 2018
While there is no way to justify what Karni Sena is doing, equating the violence to rape is wrong on many levels. Especially when people across the world are being vocal against downplaying sexual assault. Naqvi got called out on Twitter for her insensitive tweet.
I wish you hadn’t used the rape analogy.

Shameless creature to use such an analogy… But can’t help when your agenda all along is to create ruckus, divide society n when caught play victim…

What a nasty, sexist tweet is this, in such poor taste too. I don’t approve of the #KarniSena but why shouldn’t #Bhansali do whatever he can to protect his film, not to mention his investment? https://t.co/ImcJyaxemE

Some even questioned her ‘liberal’ credentials.
Great analogy, this is being liberal?
— Gour (@pratikgour) January 24, 2018
This is far worse than Salman Khan’s Dangal rape analogy… But nothing here for Feminists to outrage over a fellow left-liberal’s remark. Move on. https://t.co/SHwQfiez3b

While others even pointed out how the Internet Liberals would’ve reacted if such a comment was passed by a man.
If a Male journalist would have done this analogy he would have criticised left and right.

Perhaps expecting a little bit of sensitivity from self appointed guardians of feminism is too much to ask for.
