Teachers of Vijayalakshmi Industrial Training Institute, Itarsi (Madhya Pradesh) dictated an anti-BJP pledge to their students. They asked them not to vote for BJP in upcoming elections until the government withdrew online examinations. The students pledged that they will also not cooperate with any BJP karyakartas. The teacher asked students to highlight corruption and injustice done by the BJP in their villages. They also asked them to motivate three others take the same pledge within 24 hours.

The Madhya Pradesh CMO handle had claimed that the online exam was a progressive step while tweeting about a skill development program in July 2017. The tweet said “Madhya Pradesh is considered a model in some areas. This is the first government to conduct the exam online.”

The exact problem with the online exam system is not known clearly. A twitter handle had complained about problems with the software used for the online exam.

Glitches in the online system, if any, needs to be corrected as soon as possible by the MP state government. While the online system is more transparent, it should be ensured that it is foolproof. Poor students must also be given adequate help in adapting to the online system.
