Kapil Mishra accuses Kejriwal government of wasting Development Fund of Rs. 17,000 crores

AAP rebel leader Kapil Mishra has accused Arvind Kejriwal led Delhi government of sitting on a Development Fund of Rs, 17,000 crores, and not spending a rupee on 49 development projects. In a series of tweets, Mishra has listed out the 49 projects on which despite the allocation of funds by Delhi government in the budget, no amount is spent on the projects.

He claimed no money has been spent on 49 major projects, of which 18 are related to education, 4 in health, 11 in transport and PWD, 4 in water, 2 in housing and slum department, 2 in the environment, 3 in rural development, 3 in tourism and other 2 major projects. He claimed that Rs. 11,000 crore was allocated to the education department. One of the projects in education department was to start 24 new schools and 156 pre-primary classes were to start, none of which have materialised.

He claimed Rs. 55 crore was allocated to add a banana or a boiled egg in mid-day meals. However, only one school in Vinod Nagar now provides milk in mid-day meals, that too without following due processes, claims Mishra.

Regarding projects in the health department, Mishra said that a total budget of Rs. 5,736 crore was allocated. One of the projects in the department was to complete 1,000 Mohalla Clinics and make them functional. However, tenders of Rs. 200 crore is allotted without identifying sites with just 10% of the work done.

He claims that while the government promised to increase the number of hospital beds from 10,000 to 20,000, the number of beds is actually 9,500.

On water department, which Chief Minister Kejriwal himself has taken up after ousting Kapil Mishra, Mishra claims not a single rupee was spent on bringing piped drinking water to households in jhuggi clusters.

He also claims the 24×7 water supply project which had started last year has been stopped.

Mishra accuses Kejriwal of running the government on ‘Facebook Model of Development’ where he carries out an event, posts pictures on social media, but there is no on-ground activity.
