At Rashtroday 2018 in Meerut, the 25th such gathering of RSS workers, Dr Mohan Bhagwat the RSS chief clamoured for the Hindus to unite as India is their responsibility.
He asserted that India is the ancient home of Hindus and that they have nowhere else to go. He also said that if anything untoward happened in the country, we (Hindus) would be responsible. He also called for people to take pride in their identity and culture.
The gathering which took place at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh saw a massive gathering of RSS workers with the organisation claiming that over 3 lakh people attended it. It incidentally also saw more than 3 lakh families irrespective of their religions, castes coming together to make 6 lakh food packets for these attendees.
Journalists even shared the bird’s eye view images of the gathering, which show vast swaths of the ground, symmetrically occupied by the RSS workers:
Other reports quoted Mohan Bhagwat as saying that everyone living in India is Hindu. As per him, even though one may be following different religions, cultures, philosophies, languages but all of them are Hindus.
Earlier too he was seen calling for social harmony in the country. In the backdrop of the Bhima Koregaon violence, which saw devastating clashes between Dalits and Marathas, Bhagwat was quoted as stressing the need for social harmony and called for an elimination of discord in the society.
