Owing to her brazen anti-Jewish rhetorics, Naz Shah was suspended from the Labour Party in April 2016. However, she was reinstated back into the party by July of that year.
Given that the Hasina government had been historically friendly to India and general elections in Bangladesh were near, New Delhi was cautious about its criticism of the Bangladeshi Prime Minister.
"If you open your mouth, then, they will snatch away your job. This is why everyone is silent and there is no cry of protest," Rudranil Ghosh lamented.
