Richa Chadha brazens out her ‘Galwan says hi’ jibe on the Indian Army with a half-hearted apology amid boycott calls for Fukrey 3

0

On Thursday, November 24, Bollywood entertainer Richa Chadha issued a half-hearted apology after her tweet mocking the Indian Army sparked outrage on social media and otherwise.

Richa Chadha took to Twitter to tender her ‘apology’, she tagged her lawyer Saveena Bedi Sachar and attached an apology message. “If the 3 words which are being dragged into controversy have offended or hurt anyone, I apologise and also say that it would sadden me if even unintentionally my words have triggered this feeling in my brothers in the Fauj of which my own Nanaji has been an illustrious part.”

Before tweeting the ‘apology’, Chadha did not leave the opportunity to play the victim as well. She, in a tweet, posted this morning claimed to have received a ‘call’. “Just received a ‘call’, had muted replies so had no idea… bye all,” Richa Chadha tweeted with the reply feature disabled.

Notably, Richa Chadha had on Wednesday (November 23), stoked a controversy after she in response to a statement from the Commanding-in-Chief, of Northern Command of the Indian Army that they are prepared to take back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir if the government issues such an order, Richa Chadha mocked the Indian Army and tweeted, “Galwan says hi.”

However, the actress deleted her tweet after she was lambasted by netizens for her insensitive taunt.

However, to no surprise, Richa Chadha was hailed by Congress leaders for her insensitive tweet.

Mandeep Bajwa, a ‘military affairs’ columnist, and a Congress member praised Chadha for being ‘brave’ and ‘gutsy’ for insulting the Indian Army.

It is worth noting that in June 2020, Indian soldiers clashed with Chinese soldiers in the Galwan valley, resulting in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers. Several Chinese soldiers were killed in the hours-long clash, but China never disclosed the exact number of soldiers killed.

Since that clash, which resulted in severe casualties on both sides, there has been a tense ceasefire in the Ladakh theatre between the two Asian giants, despite the fact that both countries have nearly 60,000 soldiers and advanced weapons deployed in the area.

Richa Chadha’s film ‘Fukrey3’ is set to be released next month. Netizens took to Twitter to demand boycott of her film.

Rajasthan: Anjali shot by husband Abdul Lateef’s brother over interfaith marriage in Murlipura

0

On Wednesday morning, a 26-year-old Hindu woman was shot at by three attackers in Murlipura in Jaipur, allegedly because she married a Muslim man. The husband, Abdul Lateef, has blamed the attack on his elder brother. Anjali survived the deadly attack, however, her condition is still critical, and she is currently under medical observation at Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur.

Anjali, who works at an Ayurvedic products store, was walking from her home to work at around 10:30 am when the attack took place.

Speaking about the incident, Anjali’s husband Abdul Lateef, who works as a salesman for a mobile payment company, said, “I had gone to work when I got to know that my wife was shot while she was going to her office at about 10:30 am. I had earlier sought security from the court as my brother was against our marriage.”

Abdul Lateef informed the police that he and Anjali got married in court on July 28, 2021. However, his family was opposed to their marriage. Abdul Lateef’s family was continuously pressurising him to leave Anjali. The duo had moved to the Murlipura area following their court marriage. Lateef also lodged a complaint at Sadar police station, however, no action was taken. Lateef has alleged that the attack on Anjali was carried out by his brother Abdul Aziz and his friends.

Notably, accused Aziz had threatened Anjali and Lateef in December last year that they will have to pay the price for their interfaith marriage.

Murlipura ACP Pramod Kumar Swami informed that three people have been arrested in the case, including Anjali’s brother-in-law Abdul Aziz along with his his accomplices Kalim and Raja. The weapon used in the attack has also been recovered.

Abdul Lateef was earlier married to a Muslim girl, however, after a few months their marriage was called off and the girl was paid Rs 25 lakh for separation. Lateef’s brother Aziz, who owns a bangle factory had paid a large sum of Rs 25 lakh paid to Lateef’s first wife, DCP Swami added.

Former Pakistani minister Ch Fawad Hussain claims he will turn India to ‘Endia’ over PoK remark, gets befitting replies

Pakistan’s former Federal minister and Imran Khan loyalist Fawad Hussain, known for his Twitter antics and fake propaganda, once again took to Twitter on Wednesday, November 23, to offer veiled threats to India. Reacting to the Indian Army’s response on PoK, Fawad claimed that his country would not take long to turn India into ‘Endia.’

In his unconscionable remark, the Pakistan politician asserted that if India attempted to reclaim PoK, Pakistan would retaliate by putting an end to India.

Fawad Hussain’s tweet

Fawad Hussain was referring to Northern Army Commander Lt General Upendra Dwivedi’s Tuesday statement that the Indian Army is ready to carry out orders from the Indian government, such as retaking Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

“As far as the Indian Army is concerned, it will carry out any order given by the Government of India. Whenever such orders are given, we will always be ready for it,” said Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, Northern Army Commander, on the Defence Minister’s statement of taking back PoK.

“The military is always ready to make sure that ceasefire understanding is never broken as it is in the interest of both nations, but if broken at any time, we will give them a befitting reply,” said Dwivedi, Northern Army Commander on the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan.

Earlier on October 28, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated New Delhi’s resolve to take back PoK, saying all refugees would get their land and homes back. Singh asserted that Pakistan had backstabbed India and was “committing atrocities” against the people in parts of Kashmir it had occupied.

While the Pakistan minister’s veiled threat to ‘end’ India was hailed by some radical Islamists, it infuriated many Indians on social media, who chastised Fawad Hussain for his audacious statement against India. However, most mocked the minister for trying to build castles in the air.

Some Twitter users ridiculed the Pakistan minister for his preposterous claim, reminding him of the past conflicts in which Pakistan suffered humiliating defeats at the hands of India.

One Twitter user going by the handle @kumar_c86 shared a picture to remind the minister of India’s heroic triumph in the 1971 India-Pakistan war that liberated Bangladesh from Pakistan.

At that time, the barbaric Pakistani Army had slaughtered hundreds of Hindus inside the temple before eventually razing it down. After facing a crushing defeat, Lieutenant-General Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi, the Commander of the Pakistan Eastern Command, signed the Instrument of Surrender at Ramna Race Course in Dacca, which was signed and accepted by Lieutenant General Jagjit Singh Aurora, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of India’s Eastern Command.

Interestingly, a Pakistani Twitter user utilised the occasion to attack Imran Khan’s party, referring to them as Pakistan’s greater adversaries than India. “@fawadchaudhry @ImranKhanPTI you guys are the most dangerous Pakistan enemy than India. #termitePTI,” read the Tweet by @Sehhrjaved

It’s hilarious that Pakistan’s ex-Science and Technology Minister Fawad Chaudhry sought to scare India with dire consequences, but Indians mocked him instead. This is because, Pakistan’s ex-science and technology minister Fawad Hussain, is the epitome of goof-ups when it comes to making bizarre and nonsensical statements.

He became a laughing stock across the media after Indian social media activists trapped him following the revocation of the special status provisions of Jammu and Kashmir. It all started when Fawad Hussain in a show of his foolishness, had issued an appeal to Punjabis in India to refuse to serve the Indian Army in Kashmir after India revoked Article 370.

Soon, Chaudhary fell prey to the Indian right-wing meme team on Twitter, making himself a clown on social media. The Federal Minister for Science & Technology in Pakistan, Fawad Hussain was made to look like a fool after Pokershash, a popular account on Twitter had sent a direct message to Hussain where he had sent images of Bollywood actors to claim that they were RAW agents posted in Pakistan.

The humiliation inflicted upon to Fawad Chaudhary is not just limited to Indian social media users. In fact, the amount of respect that he receives in his own country is much less than he gets in social media. During a debate in Pakistan’s National Assembly, a Pakistan senator likened Minister Fawad Chaudhry to a pet dog by calling him ‘dabbu’.

Fawad Chaudhary has time and again displayed that his IQ level is beyond redemption as for more than once now he has turned out to be the favourite bunny of Indian social media activists. Several of the Pakistan minister’s Twitter shenanigans and bizarre remarks may be read here.

Print columnist Dilip Mandal starts ‘Casteist BCCI’ trend as Surya Kumar Yadav is rested during Bangladesh ODIs, blames commentator Shastri for it

0

A columnist for Shekhar Gupta’s The Print, Dilip Mandal took to Twitter today, 24th November 2022, to trend the ‘casteist BCCI’ hashtag. Apparently, Dilip Mandal was upset that Surya Kumar Yadav is not a part of the ODI squad during the Indian tour of Bangladesh and he decided to blame it on the casteism of the selectors and the BCCI on the whole.

Surya Kumar Yadav, the current Number 1 T20 batsman, who has been playing cricket non-stop this year, has finally been given rest for the ODI leg of the Bangladesh tour. Yadav, who has been playing cricket non-stop since the IPL earlier this year, finally got the much-deserved rest during the upcoming series, but Dilip Mandal had to find a caste angle to it.

Notably, Indian selectors have rested every player during the past few months as they have tried to manage the immense workload of the modern players thanks to the non-stop cricket. Even the support staff, like the coach Rahul Dravid got rest as VVS Laxman stepped in as the coach for a couple of series during this time, including the ongoing tour of New Zealand.

In his long tirade against casteism in BCCI, and even attacking one of world’s greatest ever batsmen in Sunil Gavaskar, Mandal also bizarrely accused Ravi Shastri for keeping Surya Kumar Yadav out of the Bangladesh tour. Ravi Shastri is a commentator these days having served as Indian coach in the past.

Someone who doesn’t even know that Shastri stopped being an Indian coach quite a while back commenting on cricket is laughable as it is, but Mandal also accused BCCI of casteism for keeping Sanju Samson out of the ODI squad. Sanju, who was part of the Indian T20 squad in New Zealand, averages 32 in List A cricket, the domestic version of the 50 overs ODIs. An average of 32 is hardly making the case for selection to the national side, and in 114 List A games, Sanju has only one hundred to his name.

Sanju’s record in T20s is obviously a lot better than his 50-over performances, and hence, he is in or around the squad in the format.

BCCI selectors have not been perfect, especially in recent times when they have made quite a few strange selections but accusing them of casteism for giving a much-deserved rest to a player is as bizarre as it can get.

Uttarakhand government to modernise madarsas, decides to implement dress code, NCERT syllabus

On Thursday, the Uttarakhand government announced that the government has decided to revitalize the madarsas in the state. Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams stated that a dress code would be imposed at all 103 madarsas under the supervision of the Waqf Board in Uttarakhand beginning with the next session.

The Chairman of the Waqf Board also stated that the NCERT syllabus will be implemented in all madarsas in the state. The madarsas will also function from 8 AM to 2 PM like regular schools.

Shadab Shams, speaking on the government’s efforts to modernise the madrasas, stated that the government is also planning to administer the madarsas like regular schools. The Waqf Board Chairman said that seven madarsas will be modernized in the first phase, including two in Dehradun, two in Udham Singh Nagar, two in Haridwar, and one in Nainital.

Shadab Shams said that as per the revised schedule, after the morning namaz at the madarsas at 6.30 AM, there will be a class on Quran studies for one hour. From 8 am to 2 pm, classes will be held on regular subjects like regular schools. He said that the madarsas will have uniforms like any other school, and added that they plan to induct students from all communities in the madarsas, not just Muslims.

Uttarakhand’s madarsas have also been asked to register with the state education board within a month or risk closure. According to the Uttarakhand government, the state has over 400 unregistered madrasas.

“Madarsas have been served an ultimatum to register with the state education department within a month. If they fail to meet the deadline, steps will be taken to shut them,” Uttarakhand Social Welfare and Minority Welfare Minister Chandan Ram Dass had said.

The government stated that it wants the madarsas to be registered so that the students’ welfare may be taken care of and they can benefit from national and state government initiatives. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ordered the assessment after complaints surfaced that funding allocated to madarsas was not being used properly.

Will Elon Musk release Twitter internal discussions to censor NY Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story before US elections? Here is what he said

Twitter CEO Elon Musk called for a crucial action to rebuild public trust in a fresh remark on the censorship of the New York Post story on US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden. In response to a tweet requesting that all internal conversations at Twitter that led to the decision to censor the New York Post’s report on Hunter Biden be made public, Musk stated that it “is necessary to restore public trust.”

Musk was in favour of making public all internal communications at Twitter regarding the censorship of the NY Post story on Hunter Biden before the 2020 United States Presidential Election. The tweet was in reference to the NYP article on Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden’s laptop in 2020. It was heavily censored by both Twitter and Facebook and was branded as a piece of fake news.

Initially, the left and liberal cabal dismissed the report as a hoax, but it was eventually confirmed that the laptop’s contents did really belong to Hunter Biden. Following the restriction of the NYP report, Twitter justified the action by claiming that its policies forbid the sharing of compromised information.

What did New York Post report say?

In the report, the New York Post alleged that they had accessed material from a damaged Macbook that was brought to a service centre for repair. The customer who brought the laptop never collected or paid for the services. The shop owner said he repeatedly tried to contact the client. Though he could not identify the owner as Hunter Biden, he said the laptop had Beau Biden Foundation’s sticker.

The report has several documents and mentions a video that proves that Joe Biden met a high-profile businessman from Ukraine when he was Vice President of the United States. Reports suggested that Biden may have helped his son Hunter using his influence as the VP of the United States in his business in Ukraine. The Biden Camp categorically denied all the allegations.

Hunter Biden Files

In the run-up to the 2020 US Presidential election campaign, a laptop and hard drive allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden surfaced, igniting a major political controversy in the United States. The laptop had contents including materials about Hunter Biden’s personal life and business dealings, which became fodder for former President Donald Trump to attack the Biden family over their corrupt deals and impropriety.

Hunter Biden’s links with Burisma, and Joe Biden’s contacts may suggest some major conflicts of interest regarding the US government’s Ukraine policy.

Interestingly, Hunter Biden has never denied the authenticity of the laptop. Earlier in 2021, he had even conceded in an interview that it “certainly” could be his. A computer repair invoice signed by Hunter Biden on April 12, 2019, at a Delaware computer repair shop had surfaced, where he had left the laptop and a hard drive, adding more fuel to the controversy.

The FBI seized the laptop, and Biden revealed in December 2020 that federal investigators were investigating his tax affairs. Hunter’s association with a Ukrainian gas company Burisma, and several ‘conflict of interest’ deals when his father was VP, had also been highlighted.

Censorship by Twitter

On October 14th, Facebook and Twitter prohibited the circulation of the New York Post story that apparently exposed Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden. The link was not permitted to be shared on Twitter at all. When someone attempted to share the link, a notice was displayed that read, “We can’t complete this request because this link has been identified by Twitter or our partners as being potentially harmful.” If someone clicked on those links that had already been put on Twitter before they were banned, a notice flashed that indicated, “Link may be unsafe.”

The censorship had come just ahead of the US elections, where Hunter’s father Joe Biden was contesting against Donald Trump.

Musk had fired Twitter’s censorship chief Vijaya Gadde within hours of taking over the social media giant. In the weeks that followed, he fired thousands of Twitter employees, reversed several restrictions on persons and organisations that were based on their political opinions and killed the hashtags that were being used by paedophiles to sell child abuse material through the platform.

Mangaluru blast case: Accused Shariq dealt in cryptocurrencies to execute the terror operation, received funds online from Middle East

0

Days after a mysterious blast in Karnataka’s coastal town Mangaluru was revealed to be an improvised pressure cooker bomb, it has come to the fore that the accused Mohammed Shariq in the case dealt in cryptocurrencies to execute the terror operation.

The central agencies who joined in the investigation into the Mangaluru auto rickshaw blast case on Wednesday are probing the funding behind the blast.

Reportedly, the probing agencies noted that Shariq and his handlers used cryptocurrencies and the dark web to make financial transactions and received funds online to execute the blast. Shariq traded in bitcoins and received funding online from the Middle east for the terror operation. Cryptocurrency has emerged as a major threat in terms of terror funding and the Police in this case are closely investigating its involvement.

Yesterday, Karnataka home minister Araga Jnanendra visited the blast spot on the outskirts of the city, along with Karnataka police chief Praveen Sood. The duo also met the auto driver named Purushottam Poojary who is being treated at the hospital. The duo said that the blast case would be formally handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which has been looking at the case since the incident occurred.

Sood stated that the primary accused Mohammed Shariq’s goal was to create a rift between communities. “What else was the goal? His aim was to create differences between two communities, there is no doubt. Differences between communities be it Hindu, Muslim, or Christian grow when there is a blast. It means destabilising the country. He definitely intended to disturb communal harmony and unity… ,” said the DGP. Earlier, the DGP had confirmed that the blast was not accidental but an act of terror with the intention to cause serious damage.

On Saturday, a driving auto rickshaw burst in Mangaluru, creating fire and thick smoke, and the driver and a passenger were among those injured by burns. The passenger had boarded an auto rickshaw at Naguri from the Mangalore Railway Junction area. Following the explosion, a cooker was retrieved from the site and the state police increased security at airports, train stations, marketplaces, bus stops, and tourist attractions, among other places.

Shariq used fake IDs to rent a room

On November 21, it was reported that the accused Mohammed Shariq, who had previously been detained under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), had used fake identity cards to rent a room in Mysore. The Forensic Science Laboratory Division (FSL) team arrived at Shariq’s rented house in Mysore on Sunday as the inquiry into the Mangaluru bomb case proceeded. The squad seized explosive-making ingredients from Shariq’s home.

Gelatin powder, circuit boards, tiny bolts, batteries, mobile phones, wood power, aluminium multimeters, cables, mixing jars, pressure cookers, and other components required to build explosives were found by the FSL team. One mobile phone, two fake Aadhaar cards, one fake pan card, and one FINO debit card were also discovered by the forensic experts. The accused is alleged to have been assembling explosive devices at his home.

The suspect was paying Rs 1,800 per month for a single room, according to the house owner from Mysore. He presented a copy of the rental agreement, which showed the suspect’s name as Premraj, S/o Sri Maruthi, and his address as Hubballi.

The Police amid the investigations on November 22, also recovered the CCTV footage showing the accused boarding the auto-rickshaw at Naguri minutes before the explosion. In the fooatge, Shariq could be seen carrying a huge backpack in which the pressure cooker that was turned into IED was allegedly packed. The second suspect could also be seen with Shariq in the video. Karnataka Police has revealed that the suspect used the Isha Foundation logo as the display picture on his social media accounts to mask his identity.

The police have gathered CCTV footage from throughout the stretch, from the bus stop where he got off to Naguri, where the explosion eventually occurred, and are mapping Shariq’s trail after he reached Mangaluru through them. Meanwhile, the inquiry into Mohammed Shariq’s antecedents has found that he visited Madurai and Coimbatore in September and stayed for a few days in a hostel in Singanallur, a residential locality in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Police are investigating whether Shariq met Jamesha Mubeen, who died in a car explosion in Coimbatore on October 23, during his stay there.

Hate preacher Zakir Naik at FIFA World Cup: Qatar says did not send official invite after New Delhi raises concerns

According to reports, Qatar informed India via official channels that Zakir Naik, an Indian fugitive and radical Islamist preacher, had not received any formal invitation to attend the November 20, 2022, FIFA World Cup inauguration in Doha. Qatar reportedly stated that other nations were deliberately disseminating “disinformation” to impair diplomatic ties between India and Qatar.

The statement was made after New Delhi raised concerns with Doha that it would be compelled to terminate Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar’s trip to the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony if Islamist Zakir Naik were to be formally invited to watch the event’s opening from the VVIP box, a report by India Today stated.

Vice President Dhankar observed the celebration on November 20 and left Qatar the following day after meeting with Indian expatriate blue-collar workers who had built soccer stadiums in Qatar. Dhankhar also addressed the Indian diaspora, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts during the COVID-19 crisis, which provided food grains for over 80 million people in the country.

As reported earlier by OpIndia, Zakir Naik arrived in Doha, Qatar, ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup to deliver religious speeches around the country. Naik is wanted by Indian police on suspicion of money laundering and hate speech in India. India barred Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation from operating, accusing him of inciting and assisting its followers in promoting or attempting to foster sentiments of animosity, hatred, or ill-will amongst religious communities and groups. After departing India in 2016, Zakir Naik fled to Malaysia.

On March 30, 2022, the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued a notice declaring the Islamic Research Foundation an illegal association and banning it for the next five years. This organization was established by fundamentalist preacher Zakir Naik, who is accused of radicalising Muslim teenagers through his so-called religious talks.

The radical Islamist activities of Zakir Naik have been well documented. In 2016, terrorists involved in the Dhaka blast case admitted that they were influenced by the preacher’s speeches.

In 2019, Zakir was banned from giving speeches in Malaysia after he made racist comments against Hindus and Chinese Malaysians. He was interrogated for hours in connection to the same. Zakir Naik is wanted in India in cases involving money laundering. The government of India had taken his channel, Peace TV, off the air for peddling hate propaganda.

Congress supporters, ‘liberals’ hail Richa Chadha for ‘Galwan’ jibe on Indian Army even as she gets befitting replies from netizens

Bollywood entertainer Richa Chadha was called out by netizens for the ‘Galwan’ jibe on Indian Army on Wednesday. Chadha, while reacting to a statement by Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi that Indian Armed forces are ready to take back POK and are waiting for orders from government, sarcastically said ‘Galwan says hi’.

It is notable that back in June 2020, Indian soldiers had a clash with Chinese soldiers in the Galwan valley which left 20 Indian soldiers martyred. Several Chinese soldiers also died in the clash that lasted for hours but China never disclosed the exact number of soldiers it lost in the fight.

Since that clash that cost severe loss of lives on both sides, there has been a tense ceasefire in Ladakh theatre between the two Asian giants, even though both countries have close to 60,000 soldiers each and advanced weapons deployed in the area.

Soon after the deplorable comment by Chadha, she got called out by netizens who found her jibe in bad taste.

Scientist and columnist Anand Ranganathan pointed out how the Indian soldier bravely held their ground and defended Indian soil against intruders.

Another Twitter user asked her to spend a day in Galwan before making such jibes on Indian Army.

Another Twitter user replied in her own tone and reminded her how the brave soldiers had killed 45 Chinese soldiers, which China refuse to acknowledge for the longest time.

However, she was also lauded for being ‘brave’ and ‘gutsy’ for insulting the Indian Army by Congress leaders and other ‘liberals’.

As per his Twitter profile, Mandeep Bajwa is a ‘military affairs’ columnist and a Congress member.

NewsLaundry columnist Jaspreet Oberoi also said how there was nothing wrong in what she said.

Pro-AAP Twitter user one Sanjeev Goyal also joined in Chadha to mock the Indian Army.

However, soon after being called out, Chadha deleted her tweet and has made her Twitter account protected. It is not yet clear whether she has apologised for mocking the Indian Army or has quietly deleted the tweet.

Alt News co-founder Pratik Sinha declares police forensic report where PFI leader was found chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ as faulty

Co-founder of propaganda website Alt News Pratik Sinha has once again come out in defence of those raising pro-Pakistan slogans. Recently, a person named Abdul Salam, the former district president of the banned Islamist outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) was arrested by Bhilwara Police for raising ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans in a rally. The case in the matter was registered on May 15 after the video of the incident went viral.

Alt News’ Md Zubair had earlier claimed that the slogans were “SDPI Zindabad” and not “Pakistan Zindabad”.

Now, Pratik Sinha has dismissed the forensic report of the viral video as ‘faulty’.

On November 23, quoting a tweet by AajTak anchor Sudhir Chaudhary, Pratik Sinha tweeted, “Forensic report, if any, in this case, is faulty if it claims that ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were raised. It can be clearly heard that the slogan raised was ‘SDPI Zindabad’. An innocent man is being jailed and those who call themselves journalists are on the side of injustice.”

In another tweet, Sinha shared the video which led to the PFI operative’s arrest. Contrary to the claims made by the Alt News propagandist, ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans can be heard clearly in the video.

Netizens were quick to call out the desperate attempt of the Islamist sympathizer to defend the pro-Pakistan sloganeering.

Twitter user wrote, “Seems like these two jokers are above all investigative agencies in this country.”

Another one wrote, “Anyone calling him takla or ganja is also fake and faulty, as it is clearly visible black and beautiful hairs on his head. else get ur eyes tested. u all ganjafobic.”

Notably, Alt News had claimed to have done a “fact check” of the said video and even gave a clean chit to the PFI leader. However, the Station House Officer of the police station stated that the viral video was sent for forensic analysis. It was found in the investigation that Pakistan Zindabad slogans were raised. Furthermore, it was discovered that the rally was held on February 7, 2021, in support of Nathulal Rao, who won the election from Ward 57 on the SDPI, the PFI’s political wing.

Abdul Salam Ansari, former PFI district president, led the rally. The rally participants are clearly visible, raising slogans in support.

Nandlal Rinwa, in charge of the Subhash Nagar police station, stated that on May 15, 2022, Nemichand’s son Babulal Khatik, a Sanganer resident, filed a complaint in this regard, and the video was sent for forensic examination. According to the forensic report, shouts of Pakistan Zindabad were heard during the rally. Rinwa stated that Abdul Salam has been detained and that he is being questioned about other people who were present at the march, and that appropriate action is being taken.

Known for shielding Islamists, Alt News in its ‘fact check’  report stooped to a newer low and defended PFI, claiming that no pro-Pak slogans were raised in the rally. It gave a clean chit to PFI leader Abdul Salam and claimed that ‘SDPI Zindabad’ slogans were raised which were being passed off as ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans on social media. The archived version of the report can be found here.

Mohammed Zubair, the co-founder of the propaganda portal who has been charged in several cases for inciting riots and fostering enmity between communities, also supported the claim on Twitter in May 2022.

Nupur Sharma controversy, Alt News and Mohammad Zubair’s role

On May 26, former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma took part in a debate on Times Now about the Gyanvapi disputed structure case, where the other panelist from the Muslim community repeatedly insulted Bhagwan Shiv. Sharma responded by narrating what is written in Islamic holy scriptures about Prophet Muhammad. What she said has been widely quoted by Islamic scholars, including hate preacher Zakir Naik.

Mohammad Zubair, the co-founder of the so-called fact-checking website AltNews, used a cleverly trimmed video clip of the debate to target Nupur Sharma. He tweeted shortly after the debate, “Prime Time debates in India have become a platform to encourage hate mongers to speak ill of other religions.” Navika Kumar, the anchor of Times Now, is encouraging a rabid communal hatemonger and a BJP spokesperson to say things that can incite riots. Shame on you, Vineet Jain.”

It was after Mohammad Zubair shared the edited video clips of the debate that sparked outrage against Nupur Sharma and anti-India campaigns emanating from Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Pakistan. Multiple Islamic leaders and organisations made death and beheading threats to Nupur Sharma. Riots erupted in several parts of the country. On 10th June 2022, Islamist mobs led to riots in many areas after the Friday Namaz. Muslim mob raised hateful slogans against Nupur Sharma, vandalized public property, and even attacked police and citizens. In Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur, Prayagraj, and other districts several incidents of stone pelting and vandalism were reported. While the names of the places changed the pattern of ‘protests’ remained the same.

In June, a Hindu tailor Kanhaiyalal was beheaded in Rajasthan’s Udaipur by two Islamist terrorists for supporting Nupur Sharma. ‘Sar tan se juda’ became the new ‘normal’ response to anyone opposing the Islamist ideology.

Md Zubair and the platform Alt News have been at the forefront of spreading deliberate fake news and misleading information, especially of a communally sensitive nature, on social media.
