Massive setback for Congress, Sonia Gandhi’s ex-political secretary Tom Vadakkan joins BJP

In what can be seen as one of the biggest crossovers, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s closest aide Tom Vadakkan joins the BJP. Stating that he has been hurt by Congress’ stand on Pulwama he said that he has been disenchanted by the party which questioned the integrity of armed forces. “Narratives to win elections is one thing. A narrative that encompasses the country – that brings the world’s attention to this country is more important to me than elections,” he added.

He said that there is a ‘use and throw’ policy in Congress and that there are multiple power centres within the party which is unfair to the loyal party workers. “You know what happened and what didn’t happen. There isn’t a person in the journalistic world who doesn’t know what’s going on in the Congress party,” he said.

The grand old party has been struggling not only for its relevance but also to keep its flock together. Yesterday, senior Maharashtra Congress leader quit the party to join the BJP. This came a day after Sujay Vikhe Patil, son of Congress Leader of Opposition in Maharastra assembly, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil joined the BJP. In Gujarat, too, as many as four sitting MLAs of Congress have jumped the ship to join the BJP ahead of Lok Sabha elections.

Dear AAP, do yourself a favour, assert yourself and stop begging Congress for alliance

Days before Gujarat election results (2017 Vidhan Sabha) were announced we wrote what the result could mean for Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal. The way Rahul Gandhi lead a high pitched campaign in Gujarat it looked certain that Congress has decided to give BJP tough fight. Supporters of AAP were cheering to see ‘Mahaul’ against BJP. AAP and its supporters always support anyone who seems to challenge Modi, even if it means siding with Pakistan or echoing the sentiments of terrorists. However, we warned them about the dangers of Rahul Gandhi getting prominence in national politics. He will gain at the cost of AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal. This is what we wrote in Dec 2017:

“Basically, Congress has decided to assert itself for the 2019 general elections and they want to reclaim the political space they had given to AAP on lease. Congress is master at making and breaking careers of activists and politicians when it suits the party. Kejriwal could be the next in line of these use-and-throw politicians if Congress gets its mojo back.”

The first half of the prophecy (Congress asserting itself for 2019) is coming true. In the last 15 months, Congress has managed to keep Karnataka within its control and wrestle back 3 full states from BJP. Congress is peaking just at the right moment. SP-BSP has forged alliance in Uttar Pradesh which can push BJP back by at least 30 seats. Mamta Banerjee is holding the fort in West Bengal. Everyone in Mahagathbandhan has something to offer to the alliance and make things difficult for BJP. On the other hand, AAP is losing political capital. Kejriwal hasn’t won any political battles after Delhi 2014. AAP even lost Punjab which it was supposed to win comfortably.

Kejriwal probably understands that he is on a sticky wicket and that’s why has tried to woo Congress to form an alliance on 7 seats of Delhi. But an important tactic in negotiation is that you do it from a position of strengths. At least you should be able to bluff about having upper hand. AAP begging in front of Congress has completely exposed inexperience of AAP think tank. By repeatedly going public urging Congress to do alliance, AAP is clearly compromising, not negotiating. A party which got 67/70 in 2015 is requesting a party which got 0/70 seats to come together so that they can defeat the third party which got 3/70. Shows how less confident Kejriwal is about Delhi.

In 2014, AAP was on the rise. They had made a dream debut in Delhi and were looking to make a splash at the national level. 5 years down the line, their survival is at stake. If AAP fails to perform at 7 seats in Delhi, there will serious doubts in their possibility of winning back Delhi in 2020. Punjab, the only state beyond Delhi where AAP has a presence, has seen Amarinder Singh going from strength to strength. He is favourite to deliver a 100% seats from Punjab.

So what are Arvind Kejriwal’s options? If by some miracle AAP becomes part of Mahagathbandhan, they will lose their identity and unique appeal. Only reason AAP supporters tolerate Kejriwal standing next to Rahul Gandhi, Mayawati, Lalu so that Modi can be defeated. If the Mahagathbandhan (with Kejriwal being part of it) manages to throw BJP out and forms a govt under Congress leadership, next question for AAP would be, “Now that Modi is defeated, when can we go back to our basic promise of clean politics”. Will AAP be able to take up fights with tainted regional leaders of Mahagathbandhan? That will be too late.

If Kejriwal is serious about his brand of politics, AAP should go all alone in Delhi and Punjab. Try to control the damage in Delhi and consolidate his position in Punjab. AAP’s sweet spot is when they maintain equal distance from Congress and BJP. It fetched them rich dividends between 2013-2015. That’s their position of strength. In 2019 -2020 if they reach there, they will be able to win the trust of their party, supporters, volunteers and prepare for 2024. Kejriwal’s PM ambitions can wait till Modi is in active politics. Considering Kejriwal is 20 years younger than Modi, he has a lot of time at hand. Politics requires patience and if you don’t have it you learn it hard way.

3 reasons why China is more powerful than us: Congress, Congress, Congress

And yet again. At the Security Council, the Chinese veto stops the UN from declaring Masood Azhar a global terrorist.

There are two hard truths here

(1) China does not like India. This is not surprising. The Chinese feel they are entitled to dominate the world and at the very least, Asia. The last thing they want is for India to become a global power. It’s not surprising.

(2) China is a much more powerful country than India. Their economy is much, much larger than ours. In terms of global trade footprint, they are far ahead. Their military is quite a bit larger than ours. And so is their impact on science and technology.

And so it is that China will keep doing everything in their power to keep tripping India up. Which is a lot, because China is very powerful.

But how did such a yawning power differential arise between two Asian countries that began roughly from the same point at the end of World War 2?

India had been plundered for 200 years by the British Empire. The Chinese were a nation in ruins as well, where World War, Japanese aggression and Civil War had all happened almost at the same time.

How did the power trajectories of the two nations turn out to be so different? There are three reasons.

Congress, Congress and Congress.

Here is a simple illustration.

Untitled.png

As (then UN Under-Secretary General) Shashi Tharoor wrote, India declined the US offer of a permanent seat in the Security Council around 1953 and suggested instead that the seat is offered to China. The same Security Council where China used to its veto to humiliate India today.

Over sixty-five years later, Nehru may seem like a soft target. But the penalty for some blunders lingers “forever”. The UN Security Council has not changed since the People’s Republic of China joined. The world may have changed … few would argue today that Britain or France are among the world’s five most powerful countries while Japan, Germany, India and Brazil are excluded. But the legacy of 1945 at the UN Security Council endures … and hasn’t changed one bit since.

We are still paying for Nehru chasing a mirage of “Asian solidarity” with a soft spot for Communism. This is from Nehru’s Presidential Address to the Lucknow session of the Congress in 1936:

Untitled.png

Saying that the future is “full of hope” because of the Soviet Union and looking to their genius of Communism to put an end to the “wars and conflicts which capitalism feeds”. This despite watching Stalin’s purges unfold. Pick up a copy of Nehru’s Discovery of India and read it. Among all his other cheerleading of the USSR, Nehru actually suggests that the Soviet Union has discovered the secret to keeping disparate regional identities under a common umbrella, something that he sees as a model for India.

Now tell me how many pieces the Soviet Union broke into? Some visionary….

Such longing for Communism left Nehru with a natural affinity for ‘Communist’ China. The Chinese, of course, was more clever… they understood that Asian giants India and China were headed on a collision course.

Nehru’s other childish belief in “peace” had led to deliberate neglect of the Indian Army. What else do you call somebody who thought that India should move to disband its military?

Untitled.png

‘Foresee no military threats … scrap the army.” Some visionary.

The British Indian Army had served with distinction in both World Wars. It had the discipline, training, experience and equipment that by far exceeded anything that the ragtag Chinese Red Army had. It would have taken monumental neglect of the Indian Army in the Nehru years for the humiliation of 1962 to happen.

But 1962 was also a very long time ago. What explains the power differential today?

The *real* damage to India happened at a much deeper level. Can you imagine the first decade after independence? The zeal with which we could have started building a new prosperous India.

It didn’t happen. For 40 years, all the way till 1991, India kept following the disastrous path of Nehruvian socialism. We did not give up till the very end, right until we went bankrupt in 1991.

Incidentally, ‘historians’ would have us believe that Manmohan Singh was a ‘reformer’. Dr. Singh had been embedded in the Nehruvian socialist establishment since 1971, served as everything from Chief Economic Adviser to Finance Ministry to RBI Governor. Again, ‘historians’ would have us believe that Dr Singh kept his reformist self hidden closely under wraps as he was showered with favours by the ruling Nehru-Gandhis for 2 decades.

Such ‘honesty’. I am a fan.

The Chinese got wiser much before we did. By 1979, they junked Communism and began running a race for world domination.

The Chinese got a huge headstart before India even before India started moving. And even when India began, we moved slowly… very very slowly. After all, India is a democracy. Nehruvian socialism had been drilled into Indians for 40 years, every textbook, every newspaper, every teacher and every intellectual had said the same thing: Nehruvian socialism good.

In a democracy, there’s always an election coming. The long shadow of 40 years of brainwashing takes forever to lift. It cannot happen overnight in response to a panic-stricken call from the top.

By the time Indians were waking up and rubbing their eyes, China had been running hard for 12 years. Not surprisingly, many wanted to go back to sleep. After all, every book and every newspaper had told them that Nehruvian socialism was a good thing. Even today, Indians remain susceptible to the rhetoric of Nehruvian socialism.

Vajpayee took some bold steps in 1999-2004. He paid an electoral price for it. It is safe to say that Modi always has the 2004 experience at the back of his mind. Both the UPA and the NDA are terrified of being called “anti-poor”. The greatest irony, of course, is that no system in the world has lifted as many people out of poverty than capitalism. But people of India have been told that capitalism is “anti-poor”, the well has been poisoned for generations.

Time moves quickly but also very slowly. PM Modi was born on Sept 17, 1950, a few months after India officially became a Republic. Did you know that he is the first Prime Minister to be born after India was already a sovereign republic?

The past has a very long shadow indeed. India saw forty years of darkness after independence. If you want to understand what I am saying, imagine a baby born in a dark room and kept there for 40 years. Then, the door of the room is opened slightly and the now 40-year-old person sees the sunlight for the first time. Indeed, this is the first time they will try to walk on their own legs.

It will take a while to catch up.

Robert Vadra’s self proclaimed ‘Chela’ and ‘Gold Buddy’ Jagadish Sharma summoned by ED in PMLA case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today summoned Congress leader Jagdish Sharma, the self-proclaimed ‘chela’ (disciple) of Robert Vadra, Rahul Gandhi’s brother in law, in connection with an investigation under Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA). He has to appear before ED at its Jamnagar House office.

In December 2018, the Enforcement Directorate had conducted raids at the offices of Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of former Congress President Sonia Gandhi, along with other locations related to Jagdish Sharma, a close aide of Vadra.

ED sources have reportedly informed that the raids were conducted on suspects who have allegedly received bribe money from defence suppliers.

Sharma, however, had reportedly stated, before being taken away for interrogation, that it was a conspiracy against Robert Vadra. Reports had cited Jagdish Sharma as one of the close aides of Vadra.

In fact, Sharma has always been very vocal about his proximity to Robert Vadra. In 2012 after hurling a shoe at AAP Supremo, Arvind Kejriwal, Sharma had boasted of being Vadra’s ‘Gold Buddy’. Similarly, in December 2018, Jagdish Sharma had asserted that he was “Vadra Sahab’s chela”.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate has also kept a tight noose on the Gandhi family’s son-in-law, Robert Vadra in the case where allegations of money laundering were leveled against him in the purchase of a London-based benami property at 12, Bryanston Square worth 1.9 million pounds. The property is allegedly owned by him.

Last month, a special CBI court had refused to stay Robert Vadra’s interrogation and asked him to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the ongoing money laundering probe. Similarly, earlier last month, the ED had attached Robert Vadra’s company, M/s Sky Light Hospitality (P) Ltd worth Rs 4.62 crore.

In April last year, ED had attached the properties of Vadra’ aide Jaiprakash Bagarwa in connection with the Bikaner Land Scam case. In the Bikaner Land Scam case, the land was allegedly allotted in the name of non-existent individuals by the State government officials in collusion with some real estate developers.

Vadra also has a criminal case registered against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) where his firm, Sky Light Hospitality had allegedly bought a piece of land in Kolayat and Bikaner for cheap and sold the same at an extremely high premium through illegal transactions.

Nevertheless, the web surrounding the Gandhi-Vadra family is getting more and more entangled with every passing day. In an expose´, OpIndia has recently busted the Gandhi family nexus in the dubious land deals involving Sanjay Bhandari who is allegedly a close aide of the Gandhi-Vadra family.

ED to question HL Pahwa who dubiously sold land to Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Robert Vadra: India Today

In what appears to be a fallout from OpIndia’s report on the dubious deals involving Congress leaders and shady arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) will reportedly question H.L. Pahwa. According to an India Today report, Pahwa’s statement is expected to be recorded soon.

As per the report, Pahwa and CC Thampi have been called for questioning earlier as well. Pahwa is reported to have not responded to the summons while Thampi is said to be undergoing treatment in the United States.

The report states further, “Pahwa, according to investigators, had received around Rs 54 crore from CC Thampi, which the agency suspects was utilised to invest in the land.” The report further adds that the ED has established a money-trail of kickbacks which were received from the Pilatus and Samsung deal signed during the UPA era.

The Pilatus deal was another defence deal under the UPA era that was shrouded in controversy from the very beginning. The NDA government had ordered a probe into the matter in 2016. Our detailed report on the matter can be read here.

As we had reported earlier, Rahul Gandhi had purchased 6.5 acres of land located at Hassanpur, Palwal from HL Pahwa for a measly sum of Rs. 26,47,000. Pahwa was involved in numerous other land deals with the Parivar and often, he bought back these same lands at inflated prices even though his cash balance was negative. In this, he was assisted by CC Thampi who is closely associated with arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari.

As more property papers emerge linking Vadra-Gandhi family to HL Pahwa, here are questions Rahul Gandhi can’t escape

OpIndia.com had exposed links between Rahul Gandhi and arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari through dubious land deals between Rahul Gandhi and HL Pahwa who was in turn financed by CC Thampi. A political storm had broken out after the expose with BJP leader and Minister Smriti Irani holding a press conference based on the story.

The fulcrum of the expose by OpIndia.com was a land deal between Rahul Gandhi and one HL Pahwa. Rahul Gandhi had bought land from Pahwa, who also regularly deals with Robert Vadra and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. As discovered by OpIndia, Robert Vadra and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had bought several lands from HL Pahwa only to later sell them back to Pahwa at a much-inflated price. At the time of this transaction, Enforcement Directorate files recovered during their raid on HL Pahwa has confirmed that Pahwa did not have the cash reserves for the high-value purchase of lands. To make good on that payment, HL Pahwa was financed by one CC Thampi who has several financial transactions with arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. Sanjay Bhandari and CC Thampi are also inextricably linked to Robert Vadra through the benami properties bought for Vadra by Thampi and Bhandari acting as the conduit.

OpIndia.com had released 3 property documents that linked Rahul Gandhi, Robert Vadra and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to HL Pahwa. Now, we have two more property papers that link the Vadra-Gandhi family to HL Pahwa who is inextricably linked to CC Thampi and Sanjay Bhandari. Earlier, the property deal, the papers of which we had released, was of land in Hassanpur.

Now, we have acquired the property papers of another land transaction between Robert Vadra and HL Pahwa. This land deal pertains to land in Amipur. Interestingly, this transaction is also from HL Pahwa to Robert Vadra.

Another interesting aspect of the deal is that the same Mahesh Nagar who signed on behalf of Robert Vadra and Rahul Gandhi in the previous papers we had put out, has also signed on behalf of Vadra for this land deal.

HL Pahwa seems to be in the middle of the deals between Robert Vadra, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi.

In fact, we accessed another paper of a different land deal where Robert Vadra had sold land to HL Pahwa as well.

With the nexus between HL Pahwa, CC Thampi and Sanjay Bhandari coming to the fore, there are certain questions that Rahul Gandhi cannot escape.

1. Rahul Gandhi bought land from HL Pahwa who is linked to Sanjay Bhandari and CC Thampi. Did he know of this unholy nexus when he purchased the land?

2. HL Pahwa has sold land to Robert Vadra and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and then purchased the land back at inflated prices when he did not have the cash reserves to do so. In the process, he took money from CC Thampi to make good on these payments. Did Rahul Gandhi know of the unholy land deals of his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and brother-in-law, Robert Vadra?

3. What role does HL Pahwa play in his family transactions and why is he the only conduit through which such land deals are conducted? Why Did HL Pahwa take money from CC Thampi and why did he buy the land back at inflated prices when he did not have cash reserves?

4. The links lead directly to arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari who wanted to be an offset partner for Dassault during the Congress regime’s negotiations on Rafale deal. Most of the land purchase and sale happened during the Congress regime while the Rafale negotiations were on. Did Rahul Gandhi know of Sanjay Bhandari’s involvement in the Congress regime Rafale deal?

5. News reports have confirmed that several MMRCA files went missing from defence ministry during the MMRCA deal negotiations. These files were photocopied by Sanjay Bhandari, the arms dealer. While Rahul Gandhi and his family were dealing with HL Pahwa, who is linked to CC Thampi and Sanjay Bhandari, was he aware of what Sanjay Bhandari was up to?

6. Sanjay Bhandari was also a middleman for Airbus. Airbus is a part of the consortium that manufactures Eurofighter, which was in direct competition with Rafale during MMRCA deal. With his and his family’s deals with HL Pahwa linking to Sanjay Bhandari through Sanjay Thampi, was Rahul Gandhi aware that Sanjay Bhandari is also the middleman for Airbus?

7. Did Rahul Gandhi rake up the Rafale issue because Sanjay Bhandari could not get his hand in the cookie jar with the Rafale MMRCA deal and now, Eurofighter might seem more ‘lucrative’?

8. It was reported by an ABP journalist that Rahul Gandhi met Eurofighter representatives in Germany. Did that play a role in his slandering the current Rafale deal? Was Sanjay Bhandari involved in these alleged meetings?

9. Are the ‘Chowkidaar chor hai’ slogans a front so that his own nexus with an arms dealer is not revealed?

10. The current Rafale deal got a clean chit from the Supreme Court. Is Rahul Gandhi going after the deal continuously, with tenuous arguments, because if the Rafale deal is not sabotaged, Eurofighter cannot be back into consideration?

While Rahul Gandhi has gone hammer and tongs against the Rafale deal, it is evident that cogs in nexus were out undermining national security. It is crucial that Rahul Gandhi comes out an explains himself as just agreeing to purchase the land but not explaining his links to HL Pahwa, CC Thampi and Sanjay Bhandari only makes the cloud of questions thicker.

Karnataka seat sharing tussle ends, JD(S) gets 8, Congress keeps 20

The Congress-JDS coalition in Karnataka has finally agreed to a seat-sharing plan for the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies of the state ahead of the 2019 general elections. On Wednesday, the coalition announced a seat-sharing agreement with JDS. The JDS is set to contest in eight of the 28 Lok Sabha seats while Congress will field candidates in 20 seats.

The JDS-Congress coalition which has been turbulent times has somehow come up with a face-saving deal, as Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy was miffed over Congress party’s reluctance to cede more seats to its junior partner JDS. The JDS had reportedly sought at least 12 seats to contest as a part of the coalition but has now settled for eight seats as a compromise for allowing HD Kumaraswamy to run the coalition government without any extra interference by the Congress party.

According to the new seat-share formula, the JDS will contest from Shimoga, Tumkur, Hassan, Mandya, Bengaluru North, Uttara Kannada, Chikkamagaluru and Vijayapura, while Congress will contest in the remaining 20 seats. The JDS will be contesting in three seats from its bastion of Old-Mysore region in the South Karnataka. However, it did not succeed in claiming Mysuru Lok Sabha seat, as former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was very much averse to the idea of letting JDS contest from Mysuru.

Hassan and Mandya, which are considered the JD(S) strongholds, are being vacated for the coronation of JDS political heirs, the two grandsons of Devegowda Prajwal Revanna, son of HD Revanna and Nikhil Kumaraswamy, the son of CM HD Kumaraswamy. Reportedly, JDS supremo HD Devegowda may contest from either Tumkur or Bangalore North, as both constituencies have considerable Vokkaliga vote base. The Congress has ceded Tumkur Lok Sabha seat despite winning it in the 2014 general elections.

The leaders and party workers of both JDS and Congress were against the idea of ceding seats to each other in many seats in the Old Mysore region as Congress and JDS are the principal opponents against each other in the region. Further, with an eye on future elections, both parties want to maintain the influence they currently enjoy in these constituencies. With ceding Mandya, Hassan and Tumkur to JDS, Congress may have upset their own vote base, who are often not willing to vote for a JDS candidate.

As expected, Sumalatha, wife of late actor and former Congress leader MH Ambareesh has missed out on Mandya Lok Sabha ticket. She is all set to contest as an independent candidate, with a tactical backing by the BJP against Nikhil Kumaraswamy.

Meanwhile, the BJP is yet to announce candidates for the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies. BJP had won 17 seats in the state in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and it is aiming to win at least 22 seats from the state. With Congress ceding seats like Udupi-Chikkamagaluru, Shimoga, Vijayapura, Uttara Karnataka to JDS, which has very less presence in the region, BJP may be in the pole position just weeks ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

TMC leaders continue jumping ship, MLA Arjun Singh to join BJP today: Report

As Lok Sabha elections draw closer, TMC is facing a major defection issue in West Bengal. Recently TMC MP Anupam Hazra had joined the BJP. According to reports, now a sitting MLA, Arjun Singh from Bhatapara has stated that he is to join the BJP later today.

Reports say that Arjun Singh was upset over ticket distribution for Lok Sabha. He was reportedly hopeful of a TMC ticket as a candidate from Barackpore, but the ticket was given to Dinesh Trivedi. Singh had said that voters are not happy with Trivedi for his prolonged absence from the constituency.

Mamata Banerjee reportedly had met both Singh and Trivedi on Monday and had asked them to forget differences and work for the party together. But Singh has decided to join BJP instead.

Arjun Singh is considered a heavyweight leader and has a considerable number of party cadre and workers supporting him. As per reports, his defection to BJP might mean trouble for Mamata Banerjee in coming days. TMC had also denied tickets to 6 sitting MPs in its list.

Reports also say that many party leaders and workers are upset over TMC’s ticket distribution.

Another TMC leader Sovan Chatterjee, the MLA from Behala east constituency was allegedly confined to his bungalow when TMC hooligans had surrounded a house he was in with his friend Baisakhi Chatterjee. Sovan had had differences with Mamata Banerjee earlier and it was also rumored that Baisakhi Chatterjee might be given the BJP ticket from Diamond Harbour if she joins the party. TMC leader Anubroto Mondal had allegedly threatened that if the duo joins BJP they will be “Khallas” (finished).

Earlier this month, it was reported that more than 300 TMC workers had joined BJP. BJP leader Mukul Roy had reportedly stated that several other TMC leaders are in touch with BJP. TMC MP Saumitra Khan had also switched to BJP recently.

Were they retaliating on behalf of terrorists? Sushma Swaraj comes down heavily on Pakistan

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj coming down heavily on Pakistan said that terror and talks cannot go together.

Speaking at an event last night, Swaraj said that she wants Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan to know that we want action, not talks. “We are ready to engage with Pakistan in an atmosphere free from terror and violence,” she said urging Pakistan to create an atmosphere to hold talks.

Taking a dig at the so-called liberal voices who hailed Imran Khan as the paragon of peace, Swaraj said, “These voices which are raised in our country that Imran Khan is a great statesman, that Imran Khan is a generous person, he wants peace. I want to say that if Imran Khan is so generous, then he should hand over Masood Azhar to us and prove his generosity.”

She even called out Pakistan’s lack of action against the Pulwama terror attack which claimed lives of 40 CRPF soldiers. “Following the attack, your foreign minister said Masood Azhar is unwell. That he is so unwell, he cannot step out of the house. And few days later, your army spokesperson said that Masood Azhar is not in pakistan. Even Osama Bin Laden was not in Pakistan. Kasab? Who Kasab? Every time you disown your terrorists but eventually they are found on your soil only. How much would you like?” Swaraj said. She added that normalcy can be reached in the relationship of India and Pakistan only if Pakistan starts some action against terror camps which carry out attacks against India.

Accusing Pakistan of trying to misguide the international community, Swaraj said, “We waited for ten days. The international community also asked us to take immediate action against Jaish-e-Mohammad since they claimed responsibility. The airstrikes happened on 26th, after over 10 days. The airstrikes had clear mandate that no civilian should die and no military personnel should be injured. Only the terror organisation which has claimed repsonsibility of Pulwama terror attack should be targetted. And that is what happened. No civilian was killed. However, a day later Pakistan retaliated. Were they retaliating on behalf of a terror organisation?

You support terror organisation, fund them, nurture them and when they carry out terror attacks, instead of taking action against them, you come after the victim country which is taking action against them? Who are you fighting for? Those terrorists?” she said.

Indian Defence Radars detect the movement of two Pakistani Air Force jets near the LoC

0

Indian Air Force radars have detected the movement of two Pakistani Air Force jets near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector (within the territory of Pakistan).

The Indian Air Defence radars detected the supersonic movement of Pakistani jets around 10 km from the Line of Control. Loud bangs were heard last night in the area caused due to sonic booms created by the jets. All the Indian Air defences and radar systems are on high alert since the movement of the Pakistani jets.

Pakistan has increased activity along the LoC since the Pulwama terror attack and the retaliatory air strikes by the Indian Air Force on Jaish-e-Mohammad camps in Balakot, Pakistan. The country has recently been indulging in repetitive unprovoked ceasefire violations along the LoC causing casualties in the bordering areas while putting up a peace-loving face before the International community.

Recently two Pakistani drones were shot down by the Indian Air Force which violated the Indian air space in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Since Pakistan tried to bomb Indian military bases in India on 27th February which was thwarted by Indian Air Force, Pakistan has kept its airspace on the eastern part of the country shut for commercial flights. Its domestic flights between cities on easter side are using a curved route over the western part of the country. On the other hand, international flights continue to avoid flying over Pakistan completely.
