Born again journalist Ashutosh provides comical relief amidst tension of Indo-Pak war

Since early today morning, while media and social media have been set ablaze by reports of India conducting airstrikes over terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, there are certain handles that keep the environment relaxed, by providing some much needed comic relief.

Aam Aadmi Party politician turned journalist Ashutosh has concluded that India has used 2000 numbers of Mirage jets in the airstrike. Worse, he has somehow deduced that Mirage and Jet are different things. He Tweeted that India has used ’12 Mirages and 2000 Jets’ for the air strike.

Tweet by former AAP leader Ashutosh

How, as per Ashutosh, 1000 kg of explosives were to be divided among ’12 Mirages and 2000 Jets’ is perhaps a mystery we will never unlock.

Not so long ago, Man Booker prize winner and well-known Naxal sympathiser Arundhati Roy had claimed that the Rafale fighter jets are aircraft carriers. Ashutosh’s goof up thankfully has not gone that far. However, it did provide some much needed comic relief amidst all the tension.

While till now it was the journalists in Pakistan who were taking the burden of comedy amidst high tension, looks like some Indian journalists will join them soon in providing laughter doses.

Pakistan drone shot down at Kutch border in Gujarat

0

A Pakistani drone was reportedly shot down at Kutch border in Gujarat early this morning at 6:30 am, just hours after Indian Air Force launched an air strike against Pakistan in Balakot, destroying terror camps. It is not yet clear whether the same was part of India’s pre-dawn strike.

As per reports, all police officers are asked to reach the headquarters and units are put on high alert across Gujarat.

In the wee hours of the morning, Pakistan has been reporting heavy movement along the Line of Control between India and Pakistan. Pakistan has claimed that the Indian Airforce crossed the Line of Control and breached the Pakistani airspace. The air strike was carried out at 3:30 am in Balakot. One of the targets destroyed by IAF Mirage jets was in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area.

Balakot, Chakothi and Muzaffarabad terror launch pads across the Line of Control completely destroyed in IAF air strikes. Jaish-e-Mohammad control rooms also destroyed.

In the aftermath of the horrific attack on a CRPF convoy done by Pakistan based Jaish-e-Muhammad, Home Minister, Rajnath Singh, had announced in Srinagar, that the security provided to elements having links with terrorists will be reviewed. Rajnath Singh had said that separatists are hand in glove with terror organisations, terror forces & ISI across the border. They are involved in terror conspiracies too, he had added significantly.

The horrific Pulwama attack had left the entire nation in a state of shock and rage. The Indian government, resolute to discipline Pakistan has taken several measures against them. The most favoured nation status accorded to Pakistan under WTO norms were withdrawn, and then customs duty of 200% was imposed on all imports from Pakistan. Government is also working towards isolating Pakistan on the global front. PM Narendra Modi had announced after the Pulwama attacks that the Indian Army has been given a free rein to plan and execute a retaliatory action.

Reports indicate that IAF hit JeM camps in Balakot, Pakistan: Here is all you need to know about the area

As we had reported earlier, the Pakistani Army has claimed that the Indian Air Force had entered Pakistani territory and reached as far as Balakot, a town in Mansehra District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

Reportedly, 12 Mirage jets took part in the Operation and 1000 Kg of bombs were dropped on terror camps across the Line of Control, destroying them utterly.

The Indian Air Force reaching Balakot indicates that the IAF went beyond Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir and entered Pakistani territory itself. It is located in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

Balakot is 50 km from the Line of Control. More worryingly for Pakistan, Balakot is less than 200 km via road from Islamabad and less than 70 km from Abbottabad. That India was able to penetrate into Pakistani territory, as admitted by the Pakistani Army itself, goes on to show that it was a major success for India.

For Pakistan, there are two possible scenarios. Either it was not aware that Indian aircraft had penetrated their defenses into their territory or they were aware but could not do much about it. From the Pakistani perspective, it is difficult to say which is worse.

There is also a narrative being furthered by Pakistanis that Balakot actually refers to a small village in PoK. Such a village might as well exist but it’s not entirely confirmed that it does. Although it is possible that the Balakot the Pakistani Army was referring to is a small village in PoK, it is extremely unlikely since the Pakistani Army would have gone the extra mile to convey that India did not transgress upon its own territory. it would be in its own interest to avoid such confusion over a name.

Even Pakistani media claims that the other “Bala Kote” in Poonch is nowhere near Muzaffarabad as also mentioned by the Spokesperson of the Pakistani Army.

ANI also cited sources to confirm that terror camp in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa region was destroyed by IAF based on locations provided by on ground intelligence sources.

An official statement is still awaited from the Indian government on the matter.

Pakistan tried to retaliate to Indian Airforce strike, turned back because of India’s size of formation: Reports

In the wee hours of the morning, news trickled in that India had struck terror camps in Pakistan. Pakistan Army spokesperson tweeted that IAF had reached Balakot, Pakistan and also areas in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

According to sources, 200-300 casualties on the side of Pakistan have been reported, though Indian Airforce is yet to respond. The press conference is set to take place soon.

Now, news has trickled in that Pakistan F16s tried to retaliate but they were turned back.

Reportedly, according to sources in the Armed Forces, Pakistan F16s were scrambled to retaliate against IAF Mirage 2000s but turned back because they got spooked due to the size of the Indian formation.

Rahul Gandhi reacts on IAF strikes in Pakistan: 7 words flanked by 2 emojis, Rahul was more excited while lying

Indian media and social media space have been ablaze by reports of Indian Air Force striking Jaishe-E-Mohammad camps deep inside Pakistan and areas of PoK since early morning. Though an official confirmation from the government of India yet to come, it is being reported that Indian fighter jets have dropped 1000 kg bombs on JeM terror camps in aided and supplied by Pakistan.

While reactions and comments are pouring in on social media, a Tweet from Congress president Rahul Gandhi came as a striking contrast.

A Tweet that had 7 words flanked by two emojis of the Indian tricolour. That is all the usually vocal Congress president had to say for now.

It is definitely in contrast to his long tweets on debunked and dismissed lies on issues such as Rafale and the PM’s schedule which he carries on even when his claims have been busted.

When India conducted surgical strikes after Uri attack, Congress and other parties had initially tried to downplay it. When that did not work they had even gone ahead to call it fake and had asked for proof.

Rahul’s short and constrained response is sure to raise some questions as he and his party has lately been questioning a lot after the Pulwama attacks. Congress spokesperson Surjewala has even gone to the extent of calling the suicide bomber a ‘homegrown so-called terrorist’.

There are some Congress leaders, however, whose response to the Indian airstrikes is slightly better than their party president.

Rahul Gandhi has been dragging his false claims and blatant lies over the Indian Armed Forces and Rafale deal for far too long. As more details of the airstrike emerge and the government of India issues official declaration over the issue, it is expected from the president of India’s largest opposition party that he has a little more to say.

Indian Air Force conducts three airstrikes at joint terror camps of Jaish, Lashkar and Hizbul Mujahideen at Balakot, Muzaffarabad, Chakoti

According to new reports, the Indian Air Force has conducted air strikes on three locations of Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chakoti and Muzafarrabad in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK). According to Aditya Raj Kaul, the Defence reporter at Republic TV, IAF conducted air strikes for nearly 21 minutes on these locations.

The Indian Air Force fighter planes dropped 1000 kg bombs on terror camps across the Line of Control in Pakistan early Tuesday morning to avenge the Pulwama terror attack.

Earlier, we had reported regarding 12 dozen Mirage 2000 fighter jets striking at the terrorist camp across the LoC, destroying those terror camps completely. The strike was carried out at 3:30 am on Tuesday.

As per the reports, the first air strike was conducted between 3:45 AM – 3:53 AM in the morning at Balakot area, 24 Kms North-West of Muzaffarabad, which houses joint terror training camps of Jaish-e-Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen. The second strike took place at Muzafarrabad in PoK at 3:48 AM – 3:55 AM and the third strike by the IAF Mirage-2000 was conducted at Chakoti in PoK at 3:58 AM – 4:04 AM.

Earlier, Pakistan Army agreed that the Indian Air Force had indeed crossed the Line of Control (LoC) and dropped payload near Balakot in Pakistani territory. A Pakistan Army spokesperson said Indian aircraft “intruded” from Muzaffarabad sector and faced “timely and effective response from Pakistan Air Force.”

As news of IAF strikes in Pakistan trickles in, NIA raids separatist Yasin Malik’s house in Srinagar

Even as the news of Indian Air Force cross the LOC and destroy Jaish-e-Mohammad terror camps in Pakistan pour in, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Yasin Malik’s residence in Srinagar today. He was detained on Friday night in what was believed to be a wide crackdown on separatists in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier last week, the government had withdrawn security cover of 18 separatists and 155 politicians and ‘activists’ calling it ‘wastage of resources’.

Government is also working towards isolating Pakistan on the global front. PM Narendra Modi had announced after the Pulwama attacks that the Indian Army has been given a free rein to plan and execute a retaliatory action.

In the wee hours today morning, India used 1000 kg bombs to flatten terror camps in Pakistan, destroying the Jaish-e-Mohammad control rooms and camps. It is believed that the air strikes claimed 200-300 casualties. The Indian Government is reported to be assessing the damage and is expected to make a statement shortly.

India uses 1000 Kg bombs to flatten terror camps in Pakistan, destroy JeM control rooms and camps: Reports

As we had reported earlier, the Pakistani Army has claimed that the Indian Air Force had entered Pakistani territory and reached as far as Balakot, a town in Mansehra District in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

It has also been claimed that India may have conducted a two-pronged kinetic action in air and ground as said by Defence Analyst Nitin Gokhale on Twitter.

Now, ANI has quoted sources to report that 12 Mirage jets took part in the Operation and bombs weighing 1000 kgs each were dropped on terror camps across the Line of Control, destroying them utterly.

The Operation occurred at 3.30 a.m. in the morning, according to sources as reported by ANI.

According to Pakistani media, if India dropped payload in Balakot as claimed by Pakistan, then India did not merely cross the LOC. The Indian Armed Force went farther than Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and attacked Pakistani territory.

Now, reports have emerged which say that the IAF has destroyed Control rooms and launch pads of Jaish-e-Muhammad in Balakot, Muzaffarabad and Chakothi.

The Indian Government is reported to be assessing the damage and is expected to make a statement shortly.

IAF to make a comment shortly on Pakistan’s claims that Indian Air Force crossed LoC, dropped payload in Balakot

In the wee hours of the morning, Pakistan has been reporting heavy movement along the Line of Control between India and Pakistan. Pakistan has claimed that the Indian Airforce crossed the Line of Control and breached the Pakistani airspace. At around 5:30 AM, the Pakistan Army spokesperson tweeted that the Indian Airforce had violated the Line of Control.

At 7:06 AM, the Pakistan Army spokesperson tweeted that Indian aircrafts intruded from Muzaffarabad sector. He claimed that IAF “released payload” in haste “which fell near Balakot”.

While Pakistan says that IAF “dropped the payload in haste”, Indian Airforce is yet to comment on the situation.

Vishnu Som, NDTV’s defence reported has also reported that there are strong rumours of IAF strikes on Pakistan targets in the early hours of the morning. Crucial for official reactions. Pakistan also confirms we hit.

Defence Analyst Nitin Gokhale said that speculations are rife that IAF conducted two-pronged Kinetic action in air and ground.

Pakistan itself is claiming that India reached Balakot, which is beyond Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

Shiv Aroor has tweeted that IAF is to make a statement shortly.

Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mohammad, which had been dormant in the valley for quite some time was instrumental in executing the horrific Pulwama attack which consumed the lives of 44 CRPF soldiers leaving several critically injured. India has been making several attempts ever since to avenge the dastardly attack. Prime Minister Modi had sworn retribution and asserted that India would make Pakistan pay.

‘Mamata Banerjee humiliated, harassed my husband in all possible ways’, wife of Bengal IPS officer who committed suicide

0

The wife of the former IPS officer who had committed suicide blaming the West Bengal government has said that her husband was “humiliated” and “harassed” by the state government in “all possible ways”. Gaurav Dutt, a 1986 batch IPS officer, was found in a pool of blood at his residence with a slit wrist on 19th February this year. He had left a suicide note saying mistreatment by the Mamata Banerjee government was the reason for his extreme step.

Dutt had written in his suicide note that the Mamata Banerjee has victimised for 10 years and went all out to “demoralise him due to her single-minded vendetta for reasons best known to her”.  He had added that West Bengal has a “Toxic and hellish” environment where not a single IPS officer can dare to open his mouth.

Talking to media, Gaurav Dutt’s wife said that her husband was harassed in all possible ways, and she will fight for her husband’s justice. She said that other dedicated officers should not suffer what was suffered by her husband.

“For the last ten years, he did not get any posting because of two baseless cases — one is related to human rights violation and one related to the vigilance commission. And for ten years they just kept the files pending or on hold without any reason,” she said giving details about the harassment faced by her late husband.

The IPS officer had taken voluntary retirement in 2018, but his retirement benefits were put on hold by the state government. Mrs Dutt said that he had tried to appeal to the Chief Minister and went to different officers but nobody helped. “They just held the file for ten years. No promotion or elevation,” she added.

“The way they behaved with him was very humiliating. He wrote a letter to Chief Minister. He tried to reach her so that he can explain her but she did not reply to the letter,” Mrs Dutt said. She said that when her husband asked for the file on the cases against him, they had said that they had lost the file. She also alleged that police took all the evidence of her evidence on the day he died.

According to a report by MyNation, the former IPS officer’s wife is also considering moving the Supreme Court to seek justice for her husband. Reportedly she has also sought an appointment with union home minister Rajnath Singh. According to the report, she is consulting a legal team and considering to file a writ petition in the Supreme Court.
