Making light of the ‘Modi Go Back‘ posters which were put up in Guntur ahead of his rally in Andhra Pradesh, PM Modi said that, I am thankful to the Telugu Desam Party because they want me to go back to Delhi and occupy my PM’s chair again.

“I have full faith in the crores of Indians that they will fulfil the wish of Telugu Desam Party and will make Modi sit back there,” PM Modi said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday took the battle to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandra Babu Naidu ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections during a rally at Guntur in Andhra Pradesh.
Modi was visiting Andhra Pradesh for the first time after the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) broke ties with the NDA government last year. The TDP, Congress and Left parties are protesting and large posters of “No more Modi” and “Modi never again” have already come up across the state.
Referring to Amravati as the Oxford of Andhra Pradesh, PM Modi said that the central government has selected Amravati under HRIDAY scheme so that the heritage sites here can be conserved and developed. “Amravati in Guntur has been a centre of India’s faith and spirituality since ages. Now it is becoming a centre of energy of new Andhra Pradesh and new India,” said the Prime Minister.
“Youngsters from different places come to fulfil their dreams. I congratulate the youth here, especially the ones who are going to vote for the first time in Lok Sabha elections this time,” PM Modi said highlighting the significance of the new capital of Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking further regarding the central government’s decision to build oil reserves in different places in the country to avoid the scarcity of fuel in the country in difficult situations he added that many cities across the country are being connected through a city gas distribution system. Only 55% of people had a gas connection before 2014 but now the number has gone up to 90%, said PM Modi.
Targetting Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, PM Modi said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has lost his vision of development and has joined the opposition alliance in a competition to abuse him. Those who left the people of the country to live in smoke are now spreading the smoke of lies in the country, said PM Modi.
“He (N Chandrababu Naidu) said he would be the sunrise chief minister. But he seems interested in raising the profile of his son. He told me he would turn around the infrastructure of Andhra Pradesh. But he himself took a u-turn,” he added.
Taking a dig at Chandrababu Naidu, PM Modi referred to Chandrababu Naidu statements claiming his seniority while saying that Naidu was only in switching sides by deceiving his father-in-law NT Rama Rao. “It was due to the arrogance of the naamdaar family in Delhi that NT Rama Rao swore to rid Andhra Pradesh of Congress rule. The naamdaar family has always disrespected tall leaders” said PM Modi.
“NTR used to call those who used to insult Andhra Pradesh as dusht (crooked). Now the Chief Minister (Naidu) has become friends with them. Wherever NTR will be today, he would be aggrieved to see this. Chandrababu Naidu promised to realize the dreams and also to follow the footsteps of NTR. But today is he giving respect to NTR?” PM Modi questioned Naidu.
Modi also added that Naidu has deviated from his ideological path because he does not wish to face the truth. PM Modi said that Naidu is fearful of losing elections while he has installed his son in politics to create own wealth. “Your watchman has made him uneasy,” said PM Modi, pointing to himself.
PM Modi also said that he wants to remind Chandrababu Naidu that his aim is not to create wealth for ourselves but to create wealth for the nation and to ensure the efficient use of wealth and resources of the nation.
Clearing the air on the developmental funds and special status to Andhra Pradesh, PM Modi said that in the past 55 months Central govt has released adequate funds for the development of Andhra. However, the state govt never utilised the funds allocated in an efficient manner.
The Centre is working on every single point of the Andhra Pradesh Re-Organisation Act-2014 created during the bifurcation of the state, said the Prime Minister. “It is because of this that 10 out of 11 higher education institutions including IIT Tirupati, Anantapur Central University, IIM Visakhapatnam, AIIMS in Mangalagiri, have been started in the state,” added PM Modi.
PM Modi during his visit to Andhra Pradesh also laid a foundation stone for setting up new terminal of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited at Krishnapatnam and dedicated 1.33 MMT Visakhapatnam Strategic Petroleum Reserve facility of ISPRL, which will a give major push to gas-based industrial units in Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states.
PM Modi is scheduled to visit Raichur in Karnataka and Tiruppur in Tamil Nadu after his Guntur rally today. PM Modi is all set to unveil development projects in the twin cities of Hubli and Dharwad.
