Bhim Army chief and Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan has stated that he has the power to launch nationwide protests when he wants and he can bring the government to its knees if he wishes so. Speaking at the Mahakumbh Manthan event organised by News 1 India, the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshiram) MP said that his followers and supporters, representing a large section of the Dalit population, can take to the streets and launch protests whenever he tells them to.

Adding to his claims, Azad said that the power of street veto has already been demonstrated once, when the SC-ST Act was about to be weakened. He added that at his one call, lakhs of people had taken to the streets and the government was forced to come to its knees. “They are the heavy flow. I am the dam”, he said, elaborating on how he is the one stopping the force of the street protests and can launch the protests when he thinks the time is right.
