Agniveer Amritpal Singh passed away on 10th October from a gunshot wound to the head while serving with his regiment, the 10 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, in the Poonch region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The ministry amended the Central Industrial Security Force Security Wing (Subordinate Ranks) Group 'B' and 'C' to implement a 10 percent reservation for ex-Agniveers in the CISF.
