The top court on Friday refused to stop the sale of liquor across India, asking the state governments to consider providing 'home-delivery' to the consumers desiring to buy alcohol.
The MHA order had specified that liquor and paan shops cannot have more than 5 persons at a time. However, visuals of liquor stores from across the nation show social distancing norms being openly flouted.
Urging CM Ashok Gehlot to open the liquor shops in the state, Kundanpur said, "When coronavirus can be removed by washing hands with alcohol, then drinking alcohol will surely remove the virus from the throat".
