The counsel for the state government drew the attention of the court that one application is also pending since the entries in the revenue records have now been altered from Qabristan to 'purani abadi'(old settlement).
On July 21, Varanasi district judge AK Vishvesha ordered the ASI survey of the Gyanvapi complex on an application moved by four Hindu women on May 16, 2023.
Anjuman Intezamia Committee (AIC) approached Allahabad High Court against ASI survey at disputed structure called Gyanvapi mosque. Matter to be heard on 26th July.
The CJI then pointed out that there was no occasion for an officer from the Allahabad High Court to demand an explanation from railways for ‘His Lordship’s’ perusal.
The letter further stated that the incident “caused great inconvenience and displeasure to his Lordship. In this regard, the Honourable Judge wishes that explanation may be called from the erring officials of the Railways, the GRP personnel and the pantry car manager.”
