The prime accused in the Dhing rape case, Tafazul Islam, allegedly escaped from police custody, jumped into a pond and died, said police on Saturday morning.
A Police officer said, "We have found several objectionable clips and videos on their phones. They had been recording women bathing, changing clothes, and in other compromising situations. They used to upload those videos on various porn sites to earn money. We are interrogating them."
After the incident, Assam Police increased the vigil and operations, resulting in 450 illegal migrants (Rohingyas and Bangladeshis) being stopped and turned back with the assistance of the Border Guarding Forces.
Aziz, who is already married and a father of two kids, wanted the deceased girl to be in a relationship with him. He had been pressuring the girl to accept his proposal and have a relationship with him for the last six months.
