Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) President Sanjay Singh said on Saturday that the joining of wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia to the Congress party was proof that the Congress was behind the wrestlers' protest
While Bajrang Punia had received temporary relief, Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel had allowed NADA to officially charge him over refusing to hand over his urine sample.
On 23rd April, NADA issued a notice to Bajrang Punia asking him to reply by 7th May. As per reports, so far Bajrang Punia has not replied to the notice and hence has been provisionally suspended.
The Wrestling Federation of India announced the trials on March 10-11, including the names of star grapplers Bajrang (65kg freestyle), Vinesh (55kg), and Sakshi (62kg), who declared her retirement from the sport on the day Sanjay Singh was elected president.
