Almost all major hospitals and medical colleges had joined the protests against the Mamata government. The protests were only halted after CM Mamata Banerjee visited the doctors personally and assured safety and security at hospitals.

The Bengal Health Crisis is into its seventh day. After antagonizing the medical fraternity with her threats, Mamata Banerjee will finally be meeting with representatives of various medical institutions at 3.00 p.m. on Monday.
West Bengal doctors crisis began as a small protest which gradually took a nationwide dimension with doctors from all across the country raising voices of dissent against the WB government.
The protesting junior doctors have now agreed to meet Mamata Banerjee at 3:00 PM today. However, the doctors have said that the meeting would have to be “in the full view of the media” and not “behind closed doors”.
