The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Tuesday granted bail to a man accused of chanting 'Pakistan Zindabad Hindustan Murdabad' slogans on the condition that he will salute the national flag and chant ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ 21 times, twice a month.
After the national anthem was performed during the prayer, some students raised patriotic slogans like "Bharat Mata Ki Jai". However, principal Edmund Masacrenhas became enraged upon hearing these slogans.
Karnataka High Court said that chanting Bharat Mata ki Jai slogans can never foment discord rather the slogan would only lead to harmony in the country
Video of Maulana Sajid Rashidi of All India Imam Association, went viral on social media in which he objected to slogans of the "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" slogan in schools.
Amroha BJP district convener Manish Daksh said, "BSP MP Danish Ali was irritated by the slogan of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. We feel that he is not an MP of India but of Pakistan."
