Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on Saturday virtually dedicated to the nation 75 infrastructure projects of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) at a cost of Rs 2,236 crore.

The Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) was announced in the Finance Minister's Budget Speech in 2022. The programme envisages coverage of border villages on Northern border having sparse population, limited connectivity and infrastructure, which often get left out from the development gains.

Rahul Gandhi posted a video today, claiming that it contains testimonials from people from Ladakh saying that China has occupied Indian territory. Posting the tweet, the Gandhi scion insinuated that PM Modi is lying while claiming that China has not occupied Indian area.

The newly constructed bridge would enable the Indian military with the advantage of rapid mobilisation of the equipment and personnel to protect India's strategic interests against expansionist China.

The road originates at Ghatiabagarh and ends at Lipulekh pass, the gateway to Kailash-Mansarovar which is just 90 km away

The Gurudwara was one of four bottlenecks in the road project, most parts of which were completed in 2013. Besides the gurudwara, the three other bottlenecks were a power line, a petrol pump, and water supply lines.

The rapid construction along the India-China border over the last few years has changed the military dynamics in the region.
