After 36-hours of an intense search for the Cafe Coffee Day owner VG Siddhartha, his body was finally found in the backwaters of the Nethravati river at Hoige Bazaar, Mangaluru on July 31.
Cafe Coffee Day founder VG Siddhartha has left behind a letter, which has gone viral as well. In that, he explains that he had problems paying back loans and had faced harassment from the Income Tax Department.
His body has been kept at Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru, from where it will be taken to Chettanahalli estate near Mudigere. The cremation is likely to be held today.
VG Siddhartha, the founder of India’s largest coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) and also owns Asia’s single-largest coffee estate, is reportedly missing since Monday evening.
In a letter written to the Cafe Coffee Day (CCD) board, founder VG Siddhartha has said that he failed to create the right profitable business model despite taking best efforts.
The driver told the police that Siddhartha travelled to the Ullal bridge from Mangaluru in his car and asked him to stop the car the other end of the bridge. He then walked some distance before he disappeared.
