The SC questioned CM Naidu for publicly alleging adulteration in Tirupati laddus, questioning the appropriateness of his statements while an investigation was still underway.

Former TDP Chairman and YSRCP leader YV Subbareddy had earlier denied all allegations of animal fat adulteration in ghee used to make the Laddu prasadam. He claimed that only organic ingredients were used in the preparation of Prasadam.

The ghee used to prepare the Tirupati laddu prasadam during the YSRCP rule contained traces of animal fat.

The report indicated that the ghee contained traces of fish oil, beef tallow and lard served at Tirupati Temple.

Chandrababu Naidu claimed that the quality of Tirumala Laddu had become substandard during the previous dispensation, and termed it a sacrilege. YSR Congress, meanwhile, refuted the claim

At a key meeting with the Hindu Religious Endowment Department, CM Chandrababu Naidu emphasised this move as part of a broader strategy to prevent forced conversions and preserve the spiritual integrity of Andhra’s sacred Hindu sites.
