Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud on Wednesday assured Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra that he would look into the listing of her plea against her expulsion from Lok Sabha in a cash-for-query case.
The SC stated that police disclosures during media briefings in criminal matters should be objective in nature and not subjective, having a bearing on the guilt of the accused.
SG categorically highlighted why Article 370 is different from others. He said, “Article 370(3) has an in-built extinguishing provision. That's the distinction. This is the only provision that has a self-destructive clause. This shows it was intended to be temporary."
The official statement released by the Supreme Court stated that the social media post used a file photograph of the CJI and falsely quoted him. "The post is fake, ill-intended, and mischievous. No such post has been issued by the CJI nor has he authorized any such post," the statement read.
Badri Seshadri was arrested early Saturday from his Chennai home following his statements about the Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud in connection with the Manipur unrest.
