The Supreme Court is hearing a 2009 petition against the construction of statues of Mayawati, Kanshi Ram and elephants the BSP symbol, which were built at parks in Lucknow and Noida with taxpayers' money when she was chief minister between 2007 and 2012.
In a separate tweet, he had criticised, “Has the Supreme Court lost its dignity? Delay in justice is not justice. The people consider a judge as God, but even God is unable to give justice.”
Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi said that if at all any delay exists in the appointment of the judges is because of the collegium and not because of Government of India, vindicating the stand of the NDA government regarding non-interference in the judicial process.
