3 Rohingya men were sentenced to ten years of rigorous imprisonment for trafficking two Rohingya women from Bangladesh to Nuh, Haryana in 2021, and raping them
The victim claimed that she was threatened by her husband with a second marriage, subjected to physical and emotional abuse, and was even driven out of her house in July of last year when the dowry demand was not met.
As per the chargesheet, victim Naseem Akhtar gave birth to four daughters, which dismayed Imran, who married another woman in the hopes of having a son. However, he stayed with Naseem and tortured her for money. Meanwhile, Naseem's family members used to give him money to avoid problems.
"I ran in the open field, and I was very close to some girl. When I passed her, I heard that she fell on the ground. I looked back and I saw that she got shot in the head. I looked at the girl, but I couldn’t help her so I kept running away until I got to the bush,” he recalled.
During the interrogation, Salim admitted to watching live the girls while they used the bathroom. The police are still investigating when the camera was installed and whether or not he shared the video recordings with anyone else. The police have confiscated the camera and other equipment, and an investigation is ongoing.
