Delhi vigilance directorate has recommended a probe by a specialized agency into the alleged irregularities and corruption in the construction of 2,405 classrooms in 194 govt schools in Delhi.
MK Asthana has claimed that one section of CBI, under orders from former chief Alok Verma was actively trying to scuttle Christian Michel's extradition.
The secret note against Asthana prepared by CBI special unit had 22 entries, but the report submitted to CVC had 23 entries, with one added by Alok Verma
The petition filed in Delhi HC claimed that phones of several other people were also tapped when the CBI was witnessing a feud between its then Director Alok Verma and Special Director Rakesh Asthana.
Allegations made in the CVC report are certainly grave, primarily about high profile cases like in the case of Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and supposed framing of Rakesh Asthana with a fabricated document
With only weeks left for Alok Verma's retirement, the decision of the Supreme Court to take away his power to make decisions means a setback for Verma and his supporters
