Delhi's Tis Hazari court has dismissed the bail pleas of Manuj Kathuria, Tejinder, Harvinder, Parvinder, and Sarabjeet, who were arrested in connection with the drowning incident at a coaching center in Old Rajender Nagar
Following the death of three students at a UPSC coaching centre due to flooding of basement, the Delhi govt issued safety guidelines to be followed by all educational institutions.
In Delhi, several coaching centres operate out of illegally constructed buildings, often modifying basements and other spaces into classrooms without adhering to safety regulations. To no surprise, these spaces are poorly ventilated, sans proper exits, and are not equipped to handle emergencies like flooding as seen in Rau’s IAS coaching’s case. The tragic incident at Rau's IAS Study Circle is a glaring example of the dangers posed by such illegal constructions.
Meanwhile, no new statement has come from Vikas Divyakirti and Avadh Ojha. They have not even expressed their condolences to the students who died due to the negligence of the Rau coaching institute. Due to this, the anger of other students is increasing.
The student protests continued in the early hours of Monday also in Karol Bagh, raising various demands, including action against coaching centres and owners running libraries in basements, a rent regulation bill or code of rent regulation to control irrational rent and brokerage, and an insurance cover or grievance redressal mechanism for students.
After the IAS coaching institute tragedy, Delhi Minister and AAP leader Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Sunday said that there is a "big conspiracy hatched" against the people of the national capital
Students are holding massive protests in Delhi's Old Rajender Nagar area over the deaths of the three UPSC aspirants in a flooded basement of Rau's IAS Study Circle.
