A couple in Bhopal headed for divorce after the wife alleged her husband took her in a family trip to Ayodhya instead of a honeymoon in Goa.

“He has not treated the first wife and the second wife equally as required under the provisions of Islamic Law. Under Islamic Law, the husband is entitled for Polygamous marriage, however, he has to treat all the wife equally," the court observed.

Shikhar Dhawan had not met his son for over a year though the court granted mandatory visitation rights to him in India and Australia.

The court had also highlighted that the other act of cruelty relied upon by the respondent was that the appellant/wife used to allege that the respondent/husband was impotent. She compelled him to go for Doppler‟s Impotency Test in which he was found to be fit. Such allegations caused mental cruelty to the respondent.
