Reportedly, BWSSB officials said that the increased power tariff will cost the department an additional Rs 10-12 crore per month. This burden, however, is likely to be passed on to customers.
Hours after the Congress announced that Siddaramaiah will become the Chief Minister of Karnataka, a report by The Economic Times claimed that the CM bid of DK Shivakumar was not supported by the party's high command for his dedication towards the Hindu faith.
DK Suresh said, "I am not fully happy but in the interest of Karnataka, we wanted to fulfil our commitment…That is why DK Shivakumar had to accept. In future we will see, there is a long way to go. …I wish it (CM post for DK Shivakumar) but it didn't happen, we will wait and see."
DK Shivakumar, one of the frontrunners for the post in the southern State on Tuesday said that he would file a defamation case against the media channels which are making false claims over his resignation.
"135 seats have come under my presidency. When all MLAs left our party and we lost our government, I did not lose hope. I do not want to disclose what has happened in the last 5 years," the Karnataka Congress chief added.
One line resolution of the Congress Legislature Party said, "The Congress Legislature Party unanimously resolves that AICC President is hereby authorised to appoint the new Leader of the Congress Legislature Party."
