Dr Jaishankar

In an interview with ANI, Jaishankar talked about his journey from foreign service to politics and said he had always aspired to be the best officer and get elevated to the post of Foreign Secretary.

In a strong rebuttal to Congress over allegations pertaining to China, he said its leaders must have some problem understanding words beginning with 'C'. 

When asked about the current situation in Pakistan, Dr Jaishankar said it would not be right to talk about the neighbouring country on a public forum. However, he pointed out that, like Pandavas could not choose their relatives, India cannot select its neighbours.

In his book 'The India Way' Dr Jaishankar explains why, for India to understand its strategies and choices, and for the world to understand India, it is necessary to study the Mahabharata, 'the greatest story ever told'.

Dr Jaishankar pointed out how Europe simply advised India to just do more trade when the same rules-based order was under threat in Asia.
