The assaulted youth had a violent disagreement with the accused about a minor issue while playing cricket in Sayajipura, Vadodara. Following the fight, the accused persons called the aggrieved party to make amends. As the Hindu teenagers approached to seek reconciliation, the accused attacked them with sharp weapons.
17 of the 30 accused identified in the case are Ayaz Qureshi, Munaf Qureshi, Ayub Qureshi, Rashid Mian, Imran Mian Qureshi, Maqbool Mian Qureshi, Jani Kamruddin, Rais Mian, Mehboob Khan, Malek, Sameer, Manan Harun, Nisar's brother, Rafiq Bhatte, Nisar Mian, Babu Akbar, Yunus Mian, and Feroze Mian.
On Wednesday, the Junagarh LCB did not seek an extension of Azhari’s custody, however, it opposed the bail plea of the accused since an investigation is still ongoing in the matter.
"Maulana Mufti Salman Azhari came to the police station with them and also cooperated but there is no reply yet...Maulana Mufti Salman Azhari is ready to cooperate but the police are not giving any reply..." Sheikh said.
The Police took cognizance of the event and arrested the accused for murdering Gadhvi. Also, considering the sensitivity of the incident, the police deployed some security staff in Labhnagar to avoid any untoward incidents further.
